| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Oct 31, 2008 aroma reminded me of the sea, kind of course with mild spiciness. poured tanish and hazy with a good spritz, but I’m guess the head retention was probably impaired by the salt?... flavor was down right strange to me. didn’t taste at all like I expected. Salt was present but not dominating. very little weisse bier qualities, and not as much sourness as I was expecting. I can’t say I liked it but found it kind of interesting. ucusty (1915), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

I love the tart sourness of the beer and the complex esters have me wanting more. This was excellent. It would have rated higher were it not for the lack of head and full-bodiness. daniele (1748), Italy

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 2, 2008 Bottle from River’s Bend. Poured a hazy yellow color with a large off-white head that diminished slowly with minimal lacing. Good aroma of wheat and spice. Medium body with smooth texture. Good sour citrus fruity bittersweet flavor with a complex sweet & sour finish of medium duration. Interesting complex brew. Maria (6318), Thisted, Denmark
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 2, 2008 Draught at the brewpub. This is my first gose, and I look forward to it. The color is murky, dark golden and the head is huge and creamy. The aroma has notes of fruit, peach, dust, grain and chewing gum. The flavour is slightly sour, slightly sweet and fruity with lemon being the dominant fruit note. It’s very refreshing, uncomplicated and nice. porterhouse (1163), Alna, Maine, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 17, 2008 (330 ml bottle from Bootlegger’s) Pours cloudy gold with a sturdy two fingers of white head. Aroma is sort of honeyish with some hops, perhaps a hint of smoke. Mouthfeel fairly smooth, a bit fizzy from the noticeable carbonation. Weepy sheets of lacing. Flavor is quite gueuze-like, sourish and tangy with some honeyish maltiness underneath. Spice/coriander notes emerge more toward finish as it warms. Fairly acidic. Guess this would a German gueuze? One of those that I didn’t particularly enjoy but appreciate its quality. Alldaydrinker (558), Norwood, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 12, 2008 Bottle: Pours a hazy pale yellow colorw ith small white head. Nose is light but with touches of wheat, salt, coriander, citrus orange, funk and earthiness. Initial taste tart, citrus, salt, coriander and some grassiness. Similar to lite version of lambic gueze. Mid palate displays some other citrus qualties like lemon. Finishing with a good palate duration and refreshing. Extremely light bodied and easy drinking for a tasty treat. Mouthfeel is a little aggressive like champaign but is interesting. Average head retention.
