On tap at the brewery. Looks good in the glass. Tastes modest dry, but not penetrating - round finish. Good beer!

Largish creamy white head; slightly hazy pale yellow body with carbonation. Faintly acidic aroma. Acidic, bitterish caramelly malt aroma with lovely, crisp, flowery hop background. Dryish aftertaste. Very nice! (0.3l on tap.)

On tap at Bayerischer Bahnhof. Even though it looks like champagne, tastes quite muddy somehow, not clean or crisp as the appearance would suggest. Unpleasant aftertaste that won’t go away until you drink a nicer beer.

Draught from the source. Unclear pale yellow pour, short and frothy white head. Looks fizzy and vaguely like lemonade. Starts sweet for a Pils, bitterness only kicks in toward the end. Crisp mouthfeel, a bit dusty, distinct chalkiness on the tongue and down into the throat. Touch of citrus. Dry. Fresh with a touch of flowers. Unusual, definitely worth a try!

This beer is a fresh, delicious, flavorful, very drinkable unfiltered pilsner which has fantastic hop character on a crisp pisner malt body. This was a wonderful beer to enjoy before a fantastic lunch, as the hop bitterness in this one will rouse the appetite. Schaffner Naturtrubes Pils pours to a very hazy, very pale golden color with a thick and creamy white head, and a moderate amount of carbonation. The nose on this beer is wonderful with lots of fresh herbal/grassy hop aromas paired with some crisp pilsner malt aroma. The palate is soft and round on the tongue with good pale and pilsner malt flavors. Schaffner Naturtrubes Pils finishes with more good crisp pilsner malt flavor up front, then ends with a very pleasing, herbal hop bitterness that lingers on the tongue. A very well done unfiltered pils for an outstanding Leipzig brewery. Saxony is a really nice state in Germany, and Leipzig is a great town to visit, if even for a day. If you do make it to Leipzig, take advantage of what the city has to offer, and when you are ready for a good meal and a good beer, visit Bayerischer Banhof, and give Schaffner Naturtrubes Pils a try.

Lemon, basil and buter aroma; bitter taste with herbal and butter aromas; bitter finish with hop, resin and wood aromas. A reasonable attempt at the pils style - dry and spicily hoppy.

Draught at the brewpub. Mash aroma. Very hoppy finish. Acidic yoghurt flavour. Fresh and dry finish. A great pils.

Draft @ the brewpub. Hoppy nose, flowers and some brew mash. Light hazy yellow body, medium white head. Nice malt base, flavor of bitter hops and flowers.
