truegen (137), Puyallup, Washington, USA Mar 23, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pale gold in color. Not much of a head. Nice bready, grassy nose. Sharp, quick hop bite on the tip of the tongue, then sweet malts on the way down. How do you go from Trout Slayer to Dancing Trout? What would Freud say about the artwork? Hmm...
robforbes (729), Bremerton, Washington, USA Sep 2, 2008 pours a clear golden yellow with a small white head, light carbonation, some lacing.
smell is faint, wheat, some citrus, touch of spice.
taste is smooth yet watery, a little tart up front, some grain, some yeast, wheat, a little citrus, ends tangy on the tongue and slightly dry. Aubrey (2592), Denver, Colorado, USA Aug 23, 2008 Light golden in color. Soft on the tongue yet it had a crispness to it. I found it pretty easy to drink and was quenching. Light grains and wheatgerm. Also had a honey-like sweetness with lingering caramel notes. Light yet balanced bitterness level. Flowery aromas in the background. Nothing too exciting, but it was pleasant. BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA Aug 18, 2008 Pretty inconsistent from bottle to bottle. I have gotten really good bottles of this and I have gotten a few that were complete diacetly bombs. Either way it is not that impressive of a beer. Some very light spice notes, mixed with a faint cereal malt body. Definitely tastes better since they have changed the name. bitbucket (1542), Kirkland, Washington, USA Jul 2, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear dark gold with a thin and lacy white head. Citrus and floral nose, light body, medium carbonation. Lightly sweet toffee taste with a dry finish. scrizzz (489), kirkland, Washington, USA Jun 29, 2008 definitely different than the trout slayer. completely clear, brighter gold with a pronounced honey notes. smooth throughout, soft with long fruity esters.
