Very dark, amber-brown colour. A buttery, alcoholic aroma. Smooth mouthfeel, medium to thick bodied. A buttery, malt flavour with a very warming finish. One of the better AMerican doppelbocks that I’ve had.

Dark brown with very little off brown head. Nice toasted sweet malt aroma. Very sweet from the start with touches of toasted nuts. Great mouth feel to this creamy roasted finish.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle via beer swap at ABA Annual meeting in Portland, Oregon. Pours a clear, golden brown brew with a thin beige head that slowly dissolves to a fine film, good lacing and white ring. Aroma of smoked apple and plum wood, some roasted nuts, sweet caramel malt, with a touch of flowery hops. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated, semi-sweet with flavors of light milk chocolate, toffee, some apple/pear character and a touch of smokey brown sugar. Finish is sweet, then slightly dry with a faint maple syrup flavor aftertaste. Nice touch for a doppelbock.

I really like this dark, seasonal brew from Missoula. Not much head...rich taste. High alcohol level (alc. content 7.8 - 8.4% vol). Only available from November thru February. Calories abt. 300, (based on Sam Adams Double Bock).

Somewhat rich nose of dark smoky wood, perhaps some licorice as well and some dark fruits and nuts as well. Overall a bit of a mild smell, but still complex I would say. Creamy and smooth texture, while still robust and sweet on the tongue with a brown sugar and maple presence contrasted by a more smoky wood and meat flavor. Very sweet and full.

Very dark brown with a thin tannish head. Nice malty sweet flavor. The aroma almost smells like cookie dough. Very nice. Thx kyzr

12oz btl thanks to kyzr. A dark brown pour with little to no head. An aroma of malt sweetness and a hint of abv. A flavor of sweet maltiness followed by raisins and just enough bitter to keep it interesting. The abv comes through with just a tad of warmth. Light carbonation and good mouthfeel push this beer on up. Overall a beer that I really enjoyed and wish I could get here. thanks Mitch
