Bottle: Amber hued caramel, mild sudsy off-white head, a few splotches of lacing, very light carbonation.   Malty nose, semi-sweet, seems to be caramel malts and perhaps vienna.   Lightly roasted malt on the tongue, slight breadiness, not as sweet as I thought it would be.   Clean, very low hop bitterness, smooth, somewhat dry, with a pleasant sticky malt accentuated exit.   Light, but still enjoyable.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   I only wished it would be a tad sweeter.

Bottle. Pours deep red with thin white head.. Sweetish malty aroma. Malt sweetish taste Thin but pleasing finish. This is good, but not oustanding

Light clear amber, some caramel malt, damp moss and metallic on the nose. Clear amber, lacks intensity. Digging this, rich caramel, smooth and lasting. Medium bodied, tasty and malt forward

This one pours dark amber with a small head. This is a smooth, well done beer. Hops are subdued and it’s nicely balanced. This is a seasonal brew from the Bayern Brewery in Missoula. Generally available from February till April.

Pours copper color with thin khaki head that vanishes. Malts dominate with a hint of lemon and roastiness. Finishes with a slight hop bite. Very well balance of flavors. A little weak on carbonation and a bit watery but overall a very drinkable spring lager.

Nice deep copper color with off white head. Aromas of toasted sweet malt. Sweet up front with a hint of toasted grain, nice balance with the hops that are in the background just letting you know that they are there. Very clean finish.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle during the ABA’s Annual Meeting beer swap. Pours a burnt reddish amber brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaves behind a nice white ring and film. Just some spotty lacing. Aroma of light roasted caramel malt, some peppery spice, some dark bread dough, and a touch of flowery hops. Taste is medium bodied, semi sweet, lightly carbonated with flavors of caramel malt and some apple bread character. Finish is semi-sweet with a bready aftertaste that sticks around.

12oz. bottle. Muted bronze appearance, with a good head on the pour, which then dissolves rapidly to a light ring. It has a plum/currant/fruit sweet aroma, with just a hint of breadiness. The taste follows the nose pretty straight. Not much hoppiness in this brew, which perhaps makes the malty sweetness a little too prominent. There’s an astringent effect on the tongue that I find intriguing. Not a typical red.
