It’s a porter. Preceded by chocolate. How could this be bad? I even bothered to think long and hard before ordering this until I eventually said, "Screw it!" and added it to my cart. Looked pretty thin pouring from the bottle. Pretty weak head. Smelled like my first attempt at a homebrew: a canned porter extract. The taste is a tad better. A tad. Nothing above average here and maybe a couple of things below.

Bottle shared by Weeare138. Poured a dark body with thin head. Sweet chocolate aroma had my hopes up. A little dissapointing when I tasted it, not as much chocolate flavor with a sweet offsetting taste. Thin mouthfeel but was decently smooth.

Appears a semi-transparent light brown with a light tan head that slowly fades into a mild cap and collar. Spotty lacing is left around the glass. Smell is of cocoa, light caramel, toffee, along with a hint of coffee. Taste is of the mentioned aromas with a typical stout flavor highlighting cocoa, and caramel. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, very thin, watered down hot chocolate with a touch of caramel.

22oz bottle shared courtesy of weeare138. Poured a dark brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of cocoa and roasted malts. Tastes of chocolate, roasted malts, and light coffee. The chocolate wasn’t as strong as I would have hoped for. Thinner body.

Thought I smelled butterscotch upon pouring into glass and immediatley thought it was going to be infected. When I tasted the beer though, there was no butter scotch, but rather a mild chocolate mocha flavor accompanied by RC Cola. For a porter, there is not alot of body, but at least it was drinkable. I guess I cant complain.

Strange I drank this on the same night that jzzbassman did, but I agree with his notes. I had very little pop with the cap, and virtually no head. Very thin with little taste at all. I agree with cola and cocoa...almost taste like a flat Shasta. I’m very disappointed. Need to try again. And for me, it was a drain pour.

Pours a cola color with zero head. Sour, with a bit of cocoa, if this isn’t just a bad bottle this is just barely not a drain pour.

On tap at the Yardhouse in Pasadena. Clear dark brown under a thin tan head with modest lacing. Aroma of bittersweet chocolate and coffee. Coffee and more bittersweet chocolate predominate the tastes with some burnt caramel and mild hops gaining a foothold at the back of the toungue. Slightly watery mouthfeel and a forgettable finish. Many better and more interesting porters out there.
