Oh well. Pours thin black with a minimal head and an aroma of rubbery wood and the inside of a dishwasher. Flavor is nutty amber, roasted malt, and a slight touch of chocolate. Palate is watery. I want my money back. SuIIy (1486), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA

Nose is chocolate, malty and roasty. Taste is chocolatey, roasted malt, has a fizzyness on the toungue and a clean smooth finish. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Nov 24, 2005 Little aroma. Not bad but not great either. Plenty drinkable but a creamier more substantial body would improve this one a lot. So would a lasting head and roastier flavors. Just too weak in the areas that matter the most in a porter. bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA

on draft at lucilles BBQ: poured clear brown with a tan head.. nose of toffee and sweetness. mouth had a dominant choc malt flavor and suttle hop character in the backbone. one of my ’non beer’ friends tried it and said it tasted like chocolate milk...not your typical brown ale flavors but good anyway.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 17, 2005 Pours mahagony-bronze without much lasting head (loosely formed at that). Cocoa powder and roasted malts, very light hints of alcohol and smoke, some coffee grinds in the finish but not seriously bitter. I think Lumpy’s description of weak iced coffee hits the nail on the head. Moderately thin but not terribly. Drinkable and decent for sipping. My biggest observation was that there was a relatively narrow range in which this was good--too cold and too warm it wasn’t so enjoyable; when it hit "just right" it was a 3.4 beer, otherwise it was a 2.9. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 16, 2005 Thin head, ruddy dark brown with red highlights. Mild cocoa aroma with a hint of hops. Decent body. Fast finish. Interesting cheap Mexican chocolate confectionary flavor. Overall rather weak though. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 14, 2005 Bottle. Deep translucent body with no head. Looks like strong iced tea. Nose-very stale coffee beans and must. Taste-what a tremendous disappointment. Tastes like weak iced coffee with some grape. Notes of sour milk, light chocolate powder, medium CO2. Slightly vinegar like. Huge let down.
