Bottle. Deep translucent body with no head. Looks like strong iced tea. Nose-very stale coffee beans and must. Taste-what a tremendous disappointment. Tastes like weak iced coffee with some grape. Notes of sour milk, light chocolate powder, medium CO2. Slightly vinegar like. Huge let down.

Well, I really wanted to like this and I do like the way that the chocolate is very restrained, but I would guess that someone looking for more chocolate would be disappointed. Sorry for the 2.5, but it just didn’t do it for me.

Drain pour bottle: Ruby color (edges) mostly black, tan head, light lacing. The nose is of roasted sewage and chocolate covered roadkill. The flavor is sour and metallic with some horrendous flavors. It’s like raspberry coated in lye with a raw sewage chaser

Pours a dark amber color. Somewhat opaque. Aroma is sweet and milky. Has a hint of chocolate and coffee. Flavor is mostly malty bitterness. Slight sweetness is noticable. Very watery and overly carbonated for my taste. Pretty poor attempt at a porter.

Pours a ruby brown with a small light tan head. Chalky cocoa aromatics. Muted roast malt flavors, with a chalky cocoa character to match the aromatics. Some lactose-like sweetness in the finish. Body is medium, but watery.

On tap at the yard house in San Diego. Burnt coffee and chocolate aroma. Dark brown color with an ivory head. Very light in body- too thin. The chocolate flavor is not well-balanced. Has a milky sweet lactose flavor without the creamyness. Finish is a little tart. Too fizzy. UPDATE: 12/2006: In the 22 oz. bomber bottle from Cyclone liquor. Black with a weak brown head. Unattenuated malt aroma. Chocolate roasted flavors with a long caramel finish. No carbonation to the medium palate. Medium body.

Dark brown to black ale with a moka head. Kalamata black olives in brine making places to chocolate/coffee. Light chocoalte with vinegar notes and vegetable-like substance. Medium body.

so i had an "interesting" experience with the beer.i was taking it out of my "cellar" and the cap bumped the top of the shelf.well after that, the cap shot off creating a loud BANG and the bottle foamed over.after collecting my wits and figuring out exactly what happend,i decided to try and rate this porter.well it was skunked.the taste and smell were super sour, and if i even poured out a tiny bit,it foamed over.i hate to say it,but this is a drain pour.
