| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 12, 2007 I’ve now had two beers from this brewery and and swearing off from them - two horribly frustrating beers. Pours lightly hazy copper with a nice beige head. The aroma has citrus, plastic and lightly toasted malt. Medium body that’s a bit watery with a small amount of sharp carbonation. The flavor starts very bland with a bit of toasted malt and dull light hops. The finish has some woody piny hops and a bit of resin that is on the plastic side. A mediocre at best pale ale. There is no more Bayhawk in my future unless recommended highly by a trusted source. This was highly forgettable. jmcinerny (15), Maryland, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 10, 2007 Bomber bought at Hi-Time in Newport. Something like a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale without the malt balance. It’s an OK hoppy beer. The term California Pale Ale - CPA - kind of rubs me the wrong way if the beer is not highly hopped and a little more complex. does CPA have a definition? ChainGangGuy (2619), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 27, 2007 Appearance: Pours a murky, light amber body with a thin, white head.
Smell: Caramel malts with a fruity peach character to it and a something odd and out of place that is still vaguely familiar that I can’t place. One day I hope to unlock the Bayhawk CPA’s secrets.
Taste: Lightly fruity with some measure of toffee sweetness. Light citrus notes lead up to the mildly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Moderate carbonation.
Drinkability: Just another shrug-inducing, run-of-the-mill pale ale. AOF (282), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 22, 2007 22oz bomber. Light amber color, somewhat murky in clarity. Nose is very hoppy with citrus and sweet malt undertones. Medium body but is is almost soapy in the mouth. It doesn’t have the clean, sharp bitterness that the better pale ales have. Slightly below average in my opinion. daHammer (60), Smyrna, Georgia, USA
