Pours a hazy yellow with slight orange tint. Aroma of citrus, especially orange. Tastes very light to almost watery. Not a good everyday hefeweizen, just okay.

From tap at Yard House in San Diego as Blue Hawaiian Primo Hefeweizen. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity, oranges andlight hoppy note. Flavour is sweet orange fruity. Light bitter and mild acidic flavoured finish. Simple and light fruity.

On tap @ Claim Jumpers in La Mesa: Served with a wedge of lemon which I wasn’t even given an option if I wanted one or not but it did help make this beer a tad bit more drinkable. Aroma is faint and simple with minimum amount of grains for smell. Appearance is a cloudy glowing yellow and thin white creamy head. The flavor was empty and lacked real substance to qualify this beer as a German hefe but I quickly quaffed it down to get it off my table and not let it ruin the rest of my dinner.

On tap under the Primo Blue Hawaiian moniker at the Yardhouse in Pasadena. Fairly faint herbal and mild banana aroma in what otherwise was closer to a pale lager. Unfortunatley the flsvors didn’t lend any surprises - seemed like a watered down hefe or American wheat. Thin texture and mildly funky finish. Drinkable but not a good representation of the style.

Draft at Claim Jumper, Lombard. This is on the menu and the tap handle as "Claim Jumper Hefeweizen." I asked the server if this was from SLO and she concurred, but SLO doesn’t have a hefe. But then, this wasn’t much of a hefe. But the comments here and on "the Advocate" for this beer concur with my impressions, so here ’tis:
I requested a "short," so this came in a shaker instead of a weizen glass, slice of lemon floating inside. Slightly reddish color, no hefe haze. Foam is gone in less than a minute. Lemon adds to a citrusy smell impression. Taste is actually a bit hearty, but mostly from light malts. Touch of sourness, again from the lemon I flicked out. Some esters. I can’t pick out anything here that tells me it’s a wheat beer; more along the lines of a <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/goose-island-312 It’s okay as a summer beer (I biked to the restaurant before going to the bus). But this ain’t no hefe, Hefé.

On draught at Old Baldy in Upland, CA. The beer is a hazy yellowish color with a medium thin white head that diminishes fairly quick. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Mild wheat aroma with touches of fruit and spice. Medium, clean body with flavors of sweet fruit and wheat, plus a touch of spice. The finish is fruity with a short wheaty aftertaste. Unmemorable overall.

No hefe aroma. This one is very untasty. Seems to have some vanilla to it which doesn’t helf.

Pint - Yard House - Honolulu, Hawaii
2008 – Hawaiian Beer Run
Aroma – Strong wheat aroma with very little than that.
Appearance –Yellow in color, light head and hazy.
Flavor – This had to be the worst beer I have had thus far. Nasty flavor this needed help. It was over oxidized and way too much wheat and very little other flavor.
Palate – Had a strange wheaty finish. Felt like I was drinking the wort.
Overall – The worst beer on the islands. Needs to be re brewed and try again. This either sat too long or just does not travel well on a slow boat.
