Commercial Description:
Beach Bum is an all-malt American blonde ale, which draws its deep golden color from the finest pale and caramel roasted barley malts. This beer is dry hopped with the choicest imported Alsace and Hallertau hops as well as Cascade hops from the Pacific Northwest, which lend to its pleasant hop aroma and its slightly spicy and fruity taste.

This one is lively! Sparkling white wine lively almost. Doesnt give off much aroma and the taste is rather typical. Blonde Ale? I would never guess. I would of guessed lager. Decent Anheuser Busch release.

Dark blonde colour. The aroma is slightly spicy, lightly malty. Tastes spicy, with light citrus from the hops. The finish is crisp and balanced.

12 oz. bottle. I was at a charity fund raiser last night in Southampton and the beer selection was five different AB products including this one. Since this one was the only one I hadn’t tried yet, I figured I’d give it a shot. Pours a crystal clear gold with a thin white head that disappeared with the first sip. Very light aroma of malt and lemon. The flavor was malt with some corn syrup up front followed by some basically flavorless hops bitterness at the finish. Thin and watery. Needless to say I drank ginger ale the rest of the night!

Minimal head and lacing. Some carbonation. Citrus aroma. Flavor could be artificial lemon sweetness with a corn background. A beer to have cold on a hot summer day ’only’ for sure.

There are some reviews on here that talk about the hops of this beer. Hops? Really? I’m not really sure how anybody tasted hops in this beer. They’re non-existent. It is malty, but tastes really, really watery... which I expected once I saw the "Anheuser-Busch" label. There are actually some decent fruits, but it’s a really weak presence. Not really a presence at all, actually. Really disappointing. I was hoping to cleanse the memory of Landshark Lager from my taste buds. Sadly, this just added to the disappointment. Haven’t had good luck with new beers so far this weekend. Thank god for Dogfish Head 90 and Sam Boston Lager.

Golden, fizzy, thick white head. Grainy aroma and palate. Better as it warms as the malt shines through.

A bit darker than a lager. Smells yeasty. Very sweet tasting. Thin. Would be a decent lawnmower type beer. If I didn’t like beer but did like to mow the lawn.

Tasted 6/2/08. 12oz bottle. Filtered with a golden hue. White bubbled head. Mild grainy nose. Touch citrus and bananas. Light bodied and crisp. Big effervescence. Grassy with a mild bitter hop flavor. Mildly sticky finish. Not terrible, but...
