Commercial Description:
Beach Bum is an all-malt American blonde ale, which draws its deep golden color from the finest pale and caramel roasted barley malts. This beer is dry hopped with the choicest imported Alsace and Hallertau hops as well as Cascade hops from the Pacific Northwest, which lend to its pleasant hop aroma and its slightly spicy and fruity taste.

From a 22 oz bottle this was very mild and light yellow. Light white head. Nose of citrus and light mouthfeel. Flavor very light malts and hops. Actually one of the better brews from AB.

ehh. now it all makes sense. i thought beach bum was a local beer from over here, apparently not. a bad attempt from a macro trying to catch the micro crowd. blegh. on draft: i really thought they screwed up and gave me a miller lite instead. little flavor of metallic and, blegh.

THOUGHTS: Surprisingly nice for a Bud product. Not great, but way better than I would have ever imagined. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a sparkling, light to medium yellow with an average to large, white head that at first seemed like it was going to last for a long time, but eventually diminished most of the way, but left fair lacing. It also had great carbonation bubbles. The aroma was light malt, and light herbal and citrus (lemon/lime) hops. The initial flavor was moderately sweet and acidic and also sour, while the finish was moderately sweet and bitter and also sour with an average duration. There was a nice balance between malt and hops, but the flavor seemed somewhat watered down. The light to medium body was watery with fizzy carbonation, and a metallic and lightly astringent finish.

Hmm, nondescript. Slight hints of hops, didn’t taste much, if any citrus. A little too carbonated

Bottle at RVC. Medium gold, decent head. Aroma slight and of bread. Flavor was faintly of bread, a hint of dough, and some very faint citric hops. A bit of drying bitterness on the finish. Not bad, but utterly unremarkable. But nothing truly wrong here.
