The body was black with a creamy light tan head on top. The aroma was chocolate with some pancakes and old coffee. The taste was nasty coffee with a bitter roasted finish. There was also some burnt peanuts. Too much strange hops for the style.

On tap, brew pub (not sure of it was still going by the Fleishhacker name). Oily oatmeal aroma. Pitch black. Dark tan head. Taste of dry roasted malt, oatmeal, a little tar. Short dry finish. Semi-sweet. An excellent Stout that just needs a little more body.

Nice smoky stouty aroma. Very black. A little caffeinated and a little roasted. Really not so heavy and pretty sweet. A nice strong-tasting stout.

Tap (7 3 6 3 15). A nice venue for a brewpub right at the end of the Park and with a view of the ocean. This was a nitro product. It was black with a nitro creamy light brown head. A strong deep roasted aroma and flavor with some chocolate to balance. Re-Rate (6 3 7 3 14). Dark brown but you can see through it. A laced brown head. Toasted malts.

Black with decent brown head. Nice roast coffee aroma with an enjoyable medium-bodied roast flavor profile. A bit of tar on the finish and moderately dry. A solid stout.

Black colored. Aroma is sweet chocolate malts, some caramel, very light roast. Maybe some sugar. Medium bodied, quite sweet.

Another beer sampled on my recent West Coast trip. The Beach Chalet is a great resaurant that overlooks the Pacific Ocean and is in the corner of Golden Gate Park. Now onto the stout...This beer pours black of course, with a decent head. The aroma is nice--plenty of roasted (almost burnt) malt and some coffee as well. The taste follows exactly. This one is heavy on the coffee flavor in the mold of a Fuller’s London Porter. The mouthfeel is fine for a stout. Overall, I was glad to have stopped in and tried this place as this stout was worth the trip."

Definetely the best presented at Park Chalet. Very well crafted with nice roasted tastes and pretty sweet. A bit of an afteraste but overall very drinkable.
