heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA Jan 2, 2009 The body was hazy dark amber with a thick off white head. The aroma was grapefruit with some almonds. Rosy and flowery. The taste was bitter grapefruit with some bread crust. An almond finish came through in this decent beer. Snojerk321 (1914), San Diego, California, USA Oct 27, 2008 Tap at O’Brien’s. Clear burnt orange in color with an off white head that left great lacing. Nose was quite fruity, did I catch some watermelon? Clean and crisp finish. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA Oct 27, 2008 Pours clear amber with a decent white head. Grassy hops, some grapefruit and lemons. Taste was ESB bitter. The hops are metallic, herbal, and grassy, but not citrusy as I expected. Lots of caramel malt, again giving it an ESB quality. Not my bag, baby. alexanderj (2212), Chino Hills, California, USA Oct 26, 2008 On tap at O’Briens. Light amber in bolor with an off white head. Very light aroma of citrus and grass. Flavor was pretty hoppy with earthy and grassy hops predominantly, with some citrus undertones. Lingers on the palate. Solid. bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA Oct 17, 2008 Draft. Amber beer with a nice off-white head. Grapefruit/summer fruit aroma with light dustiness. Grapefruit flavor with summer fruits and light pine. Medium body. Nice bitterness. Summer fruit and grapefruit lingers with a light wet hop woodsiness. SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA Jan 2, 2008 On draft at O’Briens Wet Hop fest. Medium amber color with a small head, lots of bubbles clinging to glass. Toasty caramel malts, light floral hoppiness, but surprisingly little hop character in aroma for a wet hop beer. More of the toasty, toffee malts in the flavor, floral hops more evident as well, balanced, yet still lacking for a wet hop ale. Medium body, tingly carbonation. Hmmm, did I have the same ale as the previous two raters??? jgb9348 (2492), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Nov 18, 2007 Wow - Lucky enough to be #2...and I’m not even from the West Coast! Great amber coloured body with a nice dense tan head. Perfect aroma of citrus & grapefruity hops, coupled with some fresh cut grass! Medium-bodied; Strong fragrant hop flavour with a bit of pine and perfume in the nose, all with a perfect malt backbone. Aftertaste left bitter from all the hops ,but the alcohol and malt are clean! Overall, a great beer, definitely lucky to try this during the Wet Hop sampling! I sampled this beer on draught at Toronado in San Francisco, California on 27 October 2007. drawde (115), San Francisco, California, USA Oct 28, 2007 Draft, Toronado Wet Hop Festival. Info says it’s made with all Lake County hops. A standout even among wet hops. Wonderful, clean-tasting fresh hop flavor. Compares favorably with another standout, the Sierra Harvest--the Sierra beating Hop Patootie in the nose, but the Patootie being more of a hop blast.
