The pour is the normal golden color with a white head. The aroma is hoppy, with a decent amount of citrus. There is also some straw or grass in the aroma. The mouthfeel is a bit thin or watered down. The flavor is a little too much on the grassy side for my liking--sort of biscuity as well. The hops come through, but don’t impress as much as I would like in an IPA. This did not taste like an IPA--I didn’t taste any malt or grain richness at all, just...a bland initial taste followed by a gigantic slam of hops on the tongue...an explosion of flavour which was...alright. Hops had a planty taste. At least they weren’t unpleasant. Overall, this was the best beer I had at Beach Chalet brewery, but that doesn’t say much. AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA

Big bold fruity citrus hop aroma and flavors. Nice full body to round out the potent bitterness. Excellent!
Previous: Not too impressed by this one. Aroma was nice, lots of pine. Flavor is initially sweet with a lingering bitterness. But it leaves this bad flavor in the aftertaste. It’s almost like they left the dryhops in for a bit too long, to the point of rotting. Tastes like compost. 2.5 tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Nice light malt taste with strong pine hops - yay, finally a solid beer! Balanced. Light and hoppy, this was miles ahead of the offerings so far. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 12, 2004 Tap. Hazy amber ale with a pleasant floral hops aroma. Harsh hops attack with a bitter lemon note. Too hoppy. Bilous finish. Unbalanced, needs to reduce hops. (June 2004). bb (2930), Martinez, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 17, 2004 Draft. Golden color, thin white head. Citrus hops with some malt backing. Full bodied beer. Not as hoppy as many commercial IPA’s, but in-line with many brewpub versions.
