Bottle/draft-Wow, what a great surprise! I wasn’t expecting much from the brewer, an average microbrewer. A local butcher/deli/gourmet food store had this on tap for free, so I thought it was a great time to knock off a rating, but it tasted great, so I took a bottle home. The pour had an almost creamy head and hazy golden color. The aroma was fruity, more along the apple scale than citrus. The beer had a silky, honey feel with a good malty taste. I will have to get a six pack of this!

At FBC. A clean golden pour with frothy white head. Aroma of corn and wet paper with the lightest hint of hops. Semi sweet that changes to a bit of a bitter on the finish. Foamy and a tad thin. Another very drinkable beer not outstanding but very solid.

Courtesy of Degarth. Pours clear gold with thin white head. The aroma has a nice crystal malt influence to go with a faint noble hop sense. The flavor has a mild carbonation enhanced roastiness, some faint tart malt astringency and wafer thin notes of something resembling hops. The experience ends with mild malts and a lingering vague hop bitterness.

The Lager is one of the beer styles I am most particular about because it is so hard to find a really good lager. Having been surprisingly impressed with their porter, I approach their American Lager with far more hope for a decent lager than I would have otherwise.
A golden orange with a small white head which fades quickly atop an incoming onslaught of bubbles is the vision which appears before me. Orange, honey, citric hops, and sweet grains greet my nose, and I am most pleased. Definitely a sweeter nose than some, fresh sweet grains of cereal and bran are the most prominent. My first quaff reveals a nice medium-bodied mouthfeel with notes of honey, fresh oranges, tangerines, and a chewy presence of wheat, sweet bread, and cereal grains. Maltier than some, she could use a bit of hops to add a snappy crispness to her profile. As I delve further into my Beachside American Lager, she retains her sweet grains and bready profile while honey and orange coat my mouth and tastebuds. Finishing pretty much the same way she started, I rather enjoyed the American Lager for what she was. While lacking a lot of the typical crisp hop and lager yeasts profile, she wasn’t bad.
Not as good as the porter, and yes, I realize they are two different beer styles. But remember, I am very picky when it comes to lagers. I’m not quite sure what makes this the American lager, but if offered another, I would accept. Should you ever find yourself looking for an alternative to the crisper, brighter, hoppier lagers, then give the Beachside American Lager a moment of your time.

this is a quite simple yet very nice beer to drink over many rounds. the malts are medium flavor at best but still has a touch of caramel that is noticeable. hops are mild but slightly acidic.

[928-20071206] Tap @ brewery (Melbourne, FL). Sweet fruity perfume aroma. Clear, light orange brown body with a quick white creamy head. Grainy sweet fruit malt flavour. Medium body. Not bad.

Bottle courtesy Degarth. Pours a pale golden with a small white head. Aroma of light pilsner malt. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium thin mouthfeel with a very mild amount of bitterness. Decent.
