Commercial Description:
Beachy Head “Original Ale” is a bottle conditioned bitter produced with only, water, floor malted barley (optic and crystal) and Challenger Hops from English producers. It is English bitter with a strong hoppy flavour with light floral notes. This ale contains live yeast and should be poured carefully to leave a small amount of sediment in the bottle. Best served at a temperature of 12-14°C.

11th June 2008. Frothy lively ale. Well balanced and a distinct fruity note from the hops. Watery finish lets it down a bit.

Bottle at Chris_o’s The Wolf tasting. Sorry Casper, but this bottle wasn’t good. Not a great aroma. Bit of an ugly bitter. Bit bleachy and nasty.

Bottle @ Chris_o.
Pours muddy amber with no head. Aroma is sweet biscuits and light tartness. Completely flat mouthfeeel. Infected (again). Too bad, as the stout was wonderful...

A Mes rate: 50cl bottle thanks to Ethereal.
A very solid bitter. Lovely mid red brown colour with a very gippy off white head and lace. Really pleasing bitter hop aroma with light tobacco notes. The malt comes through a little more in the flavour finishing with more floral hops. Straight down the line but a good performer all round.

500ml bottle from Middle Farm, East Sussex. Lots of sediment in the bottle, so you really need to be careful pouring! Hazy brown with a small frothy head. Nice malted barley aroma which is prevalent in the flavour but nicely balanced with hops. Nice smoky notes too. Excellent length with a great lingering flavour. I’ll definitely have this again.
