On tap at Bear Republic. Murky dark brown pour. Aroma is cognac with hints of sweet fruit. Very smooth mouthfeel with the flavor pretty dominated by the cognac. The aftertaste reveals a light oak flavor with some dark fruit and brown sugar. Although i was a little on the thin side, it was definitely a very enjoyable brew.

~Pours a dark brownish red color with small white head. ~Strong scent of bourbon/whisky. Not much else. ~Whisky flavor. Similar to drinking a shot of Jack Daniels, but lighter. ~Medium feel bitter finish. ~Luckily I’m a fan of whisky/bourbon/cognac. That’s really all I could detect in this beer. I don’t think it was a good idea aging a lighter beer in a bourbon barrel. Whisky over powers the beer.

On tap @ Brewery. Nice smooth beer. Kind of reminds me of a hybrid between a Belgian ale and a Porter. The cognac adds an interesting flavor, although the barrel aging is fairly faint. Easy drinking and dangerous beer.
