| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 1, 2009 22 oz. bottle. Pours pitch black with a big, deep tan head. Definite roasted malt and chocolate in the nose along with hints of pine. Nice rich mouthfeel, but not as chewy as many imperial stouts. Medium low carbonation. Good malt sweetness that is quickly balanced out with hop bitterness. Tastes of bitter chocolate, cola, and roasted malt. A lingering bitterness is there that doesn’t seem to be quite in harmony with everything else. I would consider this a bridge beer between stouts and imperials. A good stout with a little something extra. angrypirate06 (801), Texas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 27, 2009 Coffee and light chocolate aroma. Pours nice and thick, black with a slightly foamy head. Nice, long lasting lacing. Very watery mouthful, which was disappointing. Roasted nuts and coffee immediately available on the taste, which nice hops coming up on the back end. kennydiaz (195), staten island, New York, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 22, 2009 Bottle courtesy of Naka. Pours black with rimming ruby hues, light beige head, fizzy and dissipating to a rimming film. Caramel and roasted nose, raisin, plum. Mild watery mouthfeel, moderate carb. Taste is all roast with a good dose of chocolate, solid moderate to high bitter, mild astringency and slight caramel, raisin and brown sugar. Mild alcohol in the finish and after. A bit thin for an Impy, but still tasty. Nebulor (109), , California, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 21, 2009 A nutty roasted malt smell with molasses and pine needle esters aromas.
Pours a pure black color with an off tan head and too black to see any action. I did top this off with some sediment I sought in the bottle.
Multi roasted malt taste almost burnt with molasses, coffee, chocolate, and has a complexity of hop esters including pine and cola with a butter background.
Full bodied, resinous, lively soft carbonation, and has a well balanced astringency.
One of the best Stouts bottled and in my Stout rotation of beers. tgncc (851), Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 20, 2009 Updated: Nov 6, 2009Attractive jet black, tan head, more or less true to the style. The aroma is roasted malts, licorice. The flavor is roasted coffee, some bitter chocolate. The finish is roasted coffee again, providing the characteristic bitter finish. Some hops are evident in the finish as well, they take a few seconds to appear. Thin/medium mouthfeel, highly unusual for this style. This style is one of my favorites, but this one is relatively run of the mill. Still enjoyable, though. And affordable :) hombrepalo (789), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 19, 2009 bomber! poured into a snifter. A thick dark appearance, with a nice caramel colored creamy head. Scents of licorice, roasted malts, some coffee are very profund. A complex taste that somehow melds toasted malts, coffee, vanilla, hopes and undetected high ABV makes this one incredibly drinkable. Overall a solid but underwelming impy stout.
