| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 21, 2009 Scent is dominated by pungent sour hops. Pours a thick black with very little carbonation and a thin tan/light brown head. Taste is light and somewhat effervescent. Mostly sour hops flavor with some dark malts. Not much of a stout, but hides the high abv very well. Not bad Jayb0 (752), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 20, 2009 Yummy, heavily roasted imperial stout that keeps its ABV reasonable. Opened up as it warmed with plenty espresso and chocolate with some more subtle, but balanced, sweetness. Less vinous than many in this style. Very drinkable. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jan 20, 2009 Pours black with a thick pillow of a tan head. Aroma is roast and coffee. Flavor has some bitter chocolate, roast and coffee. Nothing really too strong standing out, but the overall flavor is good and full. Smooth and creamy texture. Overall, a very good stout and easy drinking. JB175 (1664), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 19, 2009 I’ve had this a few times and surpisingly no rating (this one is a rather fresh bottle). Dark brown with a small-med & fading tan head. Aroma has lots of sugar, some coconut, some roast, and coffee. Flavor has some hop presence up front with light coffee, chocolate (mostly bittersweet) and some earthiness. Smooth finish with a nice feel. Good, but always disappoints me just a bit. hophead75 (1964), Boonton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 17, 2009 22 oz. Almost black in color with a medium tan head. Aroma is roasty, some light coffee, some darker crystal malts and some mild citrus hops. Taste isn’t as big as most imperial stouts- roasty, with some sharp crystal malts, slightly astringent- mild earthy and citrus hop flavor. Not as rich as most imperial stouts. Finishes with some lingering roast. Certainly not bad, not sure if I would buy it again though. beerbill (1975), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 17, 2009 22 oz. bottle. Pours black with a moderate tan head that lasted through the first third of the glass and left partial lace. Very pleasant aroma of roasted malt and chocolate with a few notes of coffee and alcohol. The flavor is mostly roasted malt with less chocolate than the aroma suggests along with a just a bit of cardboard. There is no coffee in the flavor at all. A decent dose of bitter hops at the finish, which is frankly hoppier than I care for in an imperial stout. Medium-full bodied. A solid stout. kiefdog (1634), Tampa, Florida, USA

Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of dark chocolate, floral hops, slight grapefruit, citrus, molasses, tobacco, brown sugar. Generally medium to full body with slight floral notes on finish.
