Commercial Description:
Big Bear, as the name implies, is a hefty, black, Russian Imperial-style stout. This strong stout boasts a rich, caramel sweetness lavished by a robust, deep-roasted heartiness you can sink your teeth into... Big Bear's bold flavors are produced using a blend of Belgian and English roasted barley and crystal malts. Some unique flavors come forth in the malt character...Louisiana sweet molasses and dark brown sugar. This dark brew is well hopped with Chinook and Cascade hops, which are somewhat, masked by the malt. This is a balanced strong brew boasting an ABV of 8.1% that can creep up on you, "so don't get mauled". It has a dry roasted quality that masks its high alchohol content, so drink responsibly.

Poured black with a creamy brown head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Started off with coffee flavors and finished with some chocolate. Had a bit of a sour finish. Very smooth.

22 oz bottle. Poured black with a two finger brown head. Aroma of coffee, caramel, molasses, bitter chocolate and roasted malt. Flavor was roasted malt and coffee with a bitter finish. Full bodied with soft carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel.

This is one of the better stouts I’ve had, thanks to zythum for the trade! Pours black with a tan head and a little bit of retention. The aroma is mostly coffee, caramel, and molasses, also showing a mild scent of alcohol. The beer tastes creamy and roasty with espresso and a soft, sweet, bitter dark chocolate flavor. This is very well rounded and smooth. A very tasty, yet extremely easy drinking stout. The abv really doesn’t show here. Good one!

Bottle. Heavy malt aromas of toasted, cereal and milk chocolate, moderate resin and dough for the hops and yeast, with hints of raisin and charcoal. Head is small, frothy/creamy, off-white with good lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is dark brown. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic then finishes lightly sweet and acidic, and moderately bitter. Palate is medium to full, creamy almost syrupy and has a soft carbonation. I loved the tastes and texture of this beer. definitely a well crafted Imperial Stout.

Pours a super black with a nice creamy tan head that fades into a thin layer on the top of this brew. creaminess/milkiness with light/hidden aromas of coffee and a drop of toffee. Coffee aroma becomes more prominent with every whiff. This is a nice hoppy stout. It has a good citrus hop flavor with some nice [milder] coffee notes. There are really good flavors of roasted malt, molasses, chocolate, light amounts of caramel and a fruity toffee ending. I nice slightly creamy stout with good flavors fill the mouth with yummy stout goodness. I like this stout enough to drink 2-4 glasses (1-2 bombers) to my head just about anytime. Remember this is a really good overall day to day stout. That’s right you can drink this everyday and feel good about it!

Brewed in the USA !!! Pours a wonderful black color with a monster tan head. Aroma of chocolate, molasses, roasted coffee, and licorice. The taste is of bitter chocolate, roasted malts, hops, and coffee. The mothfeel is spritzy at first and becomes very smooth and bitter at the finish. This was not very expensive and is definitely in my top 5 imperial stouts........... :)
