Mar 25, 2009 Tap at Blind Tiger. Dark black beer with a thick creamy nitro head. Really lovely looking pint. Aroma is deep and cocoaish. Dark roasted coffee and a light sweetness through the middle of the palate. Lightly earthy bitterness but with a nice cocoa/coffee complexity. Sweet with a soft milk chocolate character. Long roasty finish. Tasty stuff.

Jan 18, 2009 Nitro draft at the brew pub as Nitro Black Bart. Didn’t seem all that imperial. Black color with a creamy tan head. Aroma is rather mocha. Flavors are coffee and chocolate; dark roast/toast malt; something of hop bitter. Finish is very smooth. Went quite well with prime rib.

May 15, 2009 On nitro at Rattle n Hum. Whipped up black coffee and cream appearance.Lots of lace. No overt fragerance. Creamy mouthfeel as expected, and notes of chocolate. Decent stout, not too dry but not too complex.

Mar 20, 2009 Draft at BT. Pours a black body with a tan head. Light coffee body with a roasty dry coffee nutty aroma. Hint soc chocolate. Dry and thin bodied with some light fruit. not bad.

Mar 19, 2009 Tap at Blind Tiger. Pours a nice deep dark brown almost pitch black with a nice nitro lasting head and good lace. Aroma is nutty toasty, good full chocolate and a nice light fruitiness. Flavor is toasty, good roast- light coffee, and good dark chocolate with almost a nutty chocolate fruitiness- light dry acrid slightly acidic finish. Nice dry stout.

Aug 5, 2006 Nitro at the brewpub. I agree with the previous rating in the sense that I had no idea it was an imperial stout. Opaque black in the glass with a creamy tan nitro head. Smells of dark chocolate with a touch of roasty coffee. Flavor is similar with a hint of anise. Full bodied with a smooth mouth feel. Pretty tasty.

May 8, 2009 Draft. Blackish beer with a light tan head. Nice malty, roasty, chocolate aroma. Chocolate and sweet malt flavor with light roast. Medium bodied. Chocolate and sweet malt lingers with a bit of light lactose sweetness.

Mar 26, 2009 Tap at the Blind Tiger. Man I just love this style, what can I say. A good dry stout on nitro simply can’t be beat (and no, I’m not talking about that bullshit Guinness). This beer has a subtle but delicious homemade cookie and chocolate aroma, smooth and silky, with lots of cacao nibs. Smooth, perfect body, dry and creamy, lightly chalky, more fresh cookie. Excellent.
