FlssmrBrewAlum (1075), Lisle, Illinois, USA Nov 9, 2009 Sampled at FoBAB 2009. Pours a nice muted golden hue, hazy, small white head that dies to something that sticks to the corners. Aromas are lightly sweet, lighter tartness, faint wild yeast. Vanilla, citrus fruit, and light sweetness. Initial is more muted, sweetness take a backseat, light sourness coats, brett and funk, hay and a bit of apple sweetness comes in. Ok, not a beer I’d redo. shawnm213 (882), South Bend, Indiana, USA Nov 8, 2009 FOBAB 2009. Pours a clear brown with a small white head. Notes of earth, caramel, bread, dirt, and dust. not much sourness to it, but not bad. interesting beer. bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA Oct 15, 2009 Draft. Amber beer with an off-white head. Tart and nice sour aroma with a bit of woodsiness. Musty, woodsy, tart flavor. Medium body. Woodsy, malt, and light fruitiness lingers with tartness. alexanderj (2212), Chino Hills, California, USA Sep 22, 2009 On tap at Beachwood. While I didn’t dislike it as much as others, it was probably the most disappointing beer at teh fest. Color was an amber/orange. Aroma of flowers, wine, fruit and perfume. Flavor was more of that perfume with orange. Not too sour. Decent, but expected more. JohnC (2227), Mission Viejo, California, USA Aug 25, 2009 I had this beer on tap at Beachwood BBQ’s sour beer fest.
This was a disappointing drain pour. The flavor was of a poorly done amber ale. hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Mar 11, 2009 EBF NOTB. Light copper in color with a small off white head. Aroma is weird- some harsh plastic phenols, some odd sharp funk, some carboard. Taste isn’t any better, actually pretty bad- only light tartness, some stale malt and bandaids. ugh. Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Mar 1, 2009 Draft at EBF one of the drain pours on the night. Pours an amber body with a thin off white head. Tart lame cherry, medicinal and something like turpentine and earthy pinesol. Dry and astringent. eh. Dickinsonbeer (3434), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Mar 1, 2009 Tap at EBF. Pours a medium clearish amber with a thin fading fizzy head. Aroma is slick, plasticy phenols, sick pedio ropiness, and a stale caramel sweetness. Flavor has some weird old stale funk- pedio brett and old sweaty gym sock with mildew- along with the placticy funky phenols- a bit medicinal. Sharp and slick in the finish and only a bit tart or sour. Too weird and something totally wrong with this beer. I think BR needs to stick to big hoppy beers. Bucket pour.
