Beautiful potbeercollege (251), Boulder, Colorado, USA Sep 26, 2009 Tasting at GABF. Red dark, not transparent. thin beige head. HUGE sweet hop aroma. Full feel with bitter finish Lot like red rocket... not as good though bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Sep 22, 2009 (Draught) Pours a deep amber body with a medium beige head. Aroma of grapefruit, toasted grain, chocolate, biscuit, and caramel. Flavor of hops (citrus, floral, earth), caramel, and roasted malt. OldGrowth (1405), North Carolina, USA Sep 20, 2009 pint @ Tyler’s Apex. Good aroma, sweet. Hoppy, pine, little fruity, I’m getting cherry, caramel / toffee kind of malt. Dark orangy brown color, good head and lace. Sweet, bitter flavor. Medium body, smooth creamy mouthfeel, bitter dry finish. Good brew, Looked great, thought it was at it’s best at it coldest point, aroma and flavor muddled as it warmed. beerguy101 (3861), Newark, California, USA Sep 19, 2009 Sampled during RBSG 7/11/2009 on tap at the brewery. This American Strong Ale pours a dark reddish color from the tap. Small to medium sized beige foamy head. The aroma is malty with some piney hops. A medium bodied American Strong Ale. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are piney and grapefruity. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Nice Amped up version of Red Rocket. Lots of malts, lots of hops. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter joeneugs (282), Livermore, California, USA Sep 17, 2009 Pours brown with a dense, light brown head. Aroma is thick with caramel, toffee, and citrusy hops. Also a faint hint of chocolatey roastedness. The flavor is heavy of caramel and toffee with various fruits: sweet, dark, citrusy, you name it. It ends bitter, but not as much as you would think. Surprisingly medium bodied as well. Really nice beer that seems to stradle a few different styles, taking the best of all of them. Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Aug 28, 2009 A deep ruby brown ale with a thin moka head. In aroma, nice rosewater and nutty malt, light c-hops. In mouth, an intense oily hoppy ale, warming alcohol, flavours are blending nicely, grapefruit notes, rich and onctuous. Wow! On tap at brewpub, August 16 2009.
