Aroma is thick with caramel, toffee, and citrusy hops. Also a faint hint of chocolatey roastedness. The flavor is heavy of caramel and toffee with various fruits: sweet, dark, citrusy, you name it. It ends bitter, but not as much as you would think. Surprisingly medium bodied as well. Really nice beer that seems to stradle a few different styles, taking the best of all of them. In aroma, nice rosewater and nutty malt, light c-hops. In mouth, an intense oily hoppy ale, warming alcohol, flavours are blending nicely, grapefruit notes, rich and onctuous. Wow! On tap at brewpub, August 16 2009. badlizard (2386), Berkeley, California, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 27, 2009 On tap at the brewpub on 6/29/09. Pours a nice dark amber with little head. Great balance of sweet and bitter aromas which carries through to the flavor. Ultimately, the bitterness takes over with finishes with a touch of chocolate, but a well made beer that is very flavorful. yespr (12423), Copenhagen O, Denmark
