Sweet, chewy, caramel malt aroma with some nice piney hop notes and light vanilla, too. Nice. Mildly transparent mahogany body with a yellow-tan head that diminishes slowly. Good lacing. Very sweet, sticky, with chewy maltiness present to start in this beer. Mild roastiness in the middle, along with some floral flavors. Pine/floral hop flavors present themselves late. Pretty damn tasty. Taverner (853), San Ramon, California, USA

Pours brownish red with white head. Lots of deep resinous hops, but not dank or cannabis like. More soapy and brisk. Lots of florals on this one. SECOND ANALYSIS: Pours brown with ruby core held to light. Head is tan and soapy. Flavor - amazingly smooth with a dry and clean finish tgncc (818), Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 13, 2009 Lots of floral hops in the nose. I’m coming to see this as a pattern in their beers. The color is a deep red, slightly brown color, tan head. The floral hops, combined with resin hops, dominate the flavor of this beer, and its finish. There is a lingering, astringent hop residue on the palate. Decent beer overall. HighWine (164), , California, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 8, 2009 Seriosuly dark and incredibly hoppy. Pretty close to arrogant bastard actually, which is of course an unusual beer. A tad sweet, but very drinkable for the alcohol content. bhensonb (4289), Woodland, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 6, 2009 Draft at Sacramento Brewing Co. Served in a snifter. Murky brown color (kinda like ....) with a nice tan head. Strong hoppy resin aroma. Full bodied with creamy carbonation. There’s roasted malt backbone, but the flavor is all hop - mostly resin, could be some grapefruit. Hop burn! This is the real deal. Finishes towards dryish and very hoppy, though sugar is ever present. A heavy ale. Highly recommended. GandGKevin (192), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA

Very hoppy nose with citrus aromas overwhelming the immediate area when we opened the bottle. Excellent mouthfeel as the hops was over the tongue with citrusy fruit flavors. Excellent overall, deserves a higher score.
