Jan 1, 2009 Tap at the Gate. Pale golden beer with a creamy white head. Aroma is really light but quite spicy. Zesty lemon citrus and a light juicy quality as well. Clean without a whole lot of grainy character. A bit of light fruitiness and a bit a sweet spice. As it warms, the graininess really picks up giving a lovely spicy doughy quality. Solid brew.

Dec 28, 2008 Smacks with a lager flavor. Very thin, decent hop flavors but its weird overall. Some plastic flavors. Low bitterness, low hop flavor, but high on off flavors. Good to try an all rye beer, but no need have it again.

Dec 26, 2008 Tap at The Gate: Pours golden with a wispy white head. Zesty nose with mild citruses and mild rye-like doughy notes. Thick carbonation on the palate. There’s apparent doughy flavor with hearty bread, some light rye at the fore, with more zesty hop character on the back. A touch lemony. Doesn’t seem like it’s 100% rye, but it’s somewhat decent.
