Great IIPA that is very malty and hoppy. The aroma is fantastic of caramel malts and hops--piney and citrussy. Very high amount of citrus taste in the body, this is one extremely brutal IIPA, especially considering it is only 8% abv which is low for a double. The 90+IBUs are very pleasant indeed and spice this beer up to be a force. Very good.

From the faucet at NYC’s George Keeley. An amber with strong beige head. Wonderful bready aroma of dark grain with some fruity notes from the hops and from the esters. Medium-heavy body with a initial sweet tang, followed by some toasted grain, some smokiness, and then a short bitter finish. Excellent! Pair this with a pumpernickel or rye sandwich with some German cold cuts.

Tap @ Cherry Tree, though I’ve had this excellent beer many times but have not rated it yet. Reddish amber with lasting head and lotsa lace. Mild brown sugar sweetness with complex spicy fruitiness and bracing hop bitterness. Spiciness of the rye blends perfectly with the hoppy profile. Medium-full body. Not only and excellent IPA, but also a little different from the others.

Pours a dark copper, even when held to light. Nice lasting off white head with lacing. Slightly sweet and awfully bitter. Tastes of fresh hops with a good sweet after tone. It takes a hop head to appreciate this IPA.

Draught. Pours a dark copper, with a pillowy off-white head and nice lacing. Nose is nice, sweet rye, spicy, with a piny hop note that meshes with the spicy rye perfectly. Taste begins with a nice, sweet caramel malt body, complemented by rye notes, with a resiny hops making an appearance early and for the duration of the beer. Rye comes out a bit more on the long finish, which is bitter and spicy, but balanced by the last hints of the rye and caramel sweetness. Mouthfeel is superb, full and with a very restrained carbonation.

16 oz draft at Frisco Grille poured medium copper color with a white head. Nice grassy and herbal hop aroma. Slightly sweet body, dry mouthfeel with a nice snappy hops bite. Good beer! Even better than in the bottle.
