Commercial Description:
This is a hoppy IPA. Did I say hops? Your brewer is a hop head! This is a full bodied beer using American grains. The goal was to create a base for showing off the unique floral qualities of two Pacific Northwest hops, Columbus and Cascade. Columbus is a new hybrid High Alpha Acid hop used mostly for bittering, but used heavily as an aromatic in this strong brew. Cascade is the balance that ties the malt and bittering hops together. It is a true specialty ale and is our brewer’s statement on this style. 2004 L.A. Commercial Brewing Competition, Silver Medal Winner; 2004 World Beer Cup, Silver Medal Winner; 2001 Real Ale Festival, San Diego, Gold Medal Winner; 2001 Real Ale Festival, Chicago, Gold Medal Winner; 1999 Great Amercian Beer Festival, Gold Medal Winner - og 1.070, ABV 7.0%, IBU 69. This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a hazy softly carbonated light orange brown colored body. The mild aroma was cascade hoppy and floral. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt and strong hops. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

From a 22oz bottle poured into a shaker at 48°. Color is a pale gold with a slight haze. Carbonation is good with a nice tight white head. Aroma is hoppy and fruity with a sweet citrus coming out. Taste is smooth and citric. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a creamy feel. Finish comes out sweet with a mild malt feel then the citrus rolls in with orange and lemon rind, then a bold bitterness. After taste is dry with an almost sticky bitterness lingering on leaving a pine like taste. This is a very good IPA, it has a nice citrus flavors that don’t just overpower you with grapefruit the way far too many out there do.

Bomber. Hazy murky light orange with white to beige head. Aroma sweet hops with fruit and earthy tones. Clean tongue with medium body but sticky. Taste is also fairly malty but ends bitter and long.

Bottle at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Pours amber with off white head. Great aroma of hops (simcoe), pineapple, papaya, peach and pine. The flavour is not as good as the aroma. Its dry with notes of hops, fruit, pine, caramel and grass. It has a long bitter after taste.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of my son. Pours a clear amber-orange with an average off-white foamy head that lasts throughout and leaves excellent lacing. Great citrus and floral aroma that hits you every time you tip the glass. The flavor is a big hop taste of grapefruit, tangerine, floral, and pine. Nicely balanced with caramel sweetness yet still allowing the hop bitterness come through and linger to the end. Medium bodied. Great IPA.
