| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 30, 2009 A: Poured with a nice, large, frothy white head that hung around for a while before dissipating to 1/2-finger or so. Nice lacing on the glass. Body is mostly clear with a little haze and some particles floating around, and a orange color.
S: Pleasant aroma of heavy hops, some pine, and a lot of orange citrus.
T: Awesome flavor here. The citrus (orange) bursts through at the beginning, with some pine in there as well, and a very hoppy, bitter finish. Still manages to be smooth, however.
M: Medium-bodied and creamy, with average carbonation.
D: This is an excellent IPA... very flavorful and hoppy, but still quite easy to drink. kangaroo (23), Everett, Washington, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 25, 2009 Pours a pleasant pale in the glass, short but respectable white head that leaves lovely lacing all down the glass. Aroma is full of citrus hops. Nice citrus hop taste with a little touch of earthy hops backing it up. Palate cleansing simple goodness of a beer. I liked looking into my bottle at the end and seeing that thin film of living yeast drunk off the beer they helped make. Racer 5 makes me happy. iceman15658 (15), Acme, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 15, 2009 Hazy amber color with a white head that yields a slight lace. Notes of citrus orange hops on nose. This is a medium bodied ale on mouth with a crisp hop flavor that is not overly bitter. The finish is smooth and you pick up a slight sweetness on the front of your tongue. Skyview (4045), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 8, 2009 Picked up a single 22-oz bomber at The Coffee Grounds in Eau Clarie, WI. Pours a clear golden amber colored brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of multi-grain malt, citrus zest and a hint of lemon. Taste is medium bodied, plenty of bitterness with flavors of grapefruit, citrus zest, a hint of multi-grain malt and some tropical fruit. Finish continues a sharp bitterness with grapefruit and Cascade hop aftertaste is lingers on. Excellent west coast caliber IPA. bigbish (141), Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 7, 2009 This is a good IPA for sure. Not much aroma, which was kind of disappointing. Pours a nice dark golden color, very thin white head, dissipates quickly. The flavor is fantastic and really makes up for the lack of aroma. Lots of cascade flavors, with just a hint of malts to balance the bitterness.
I like it. ecwooten (1), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA does not count | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Nov 6, 2009 Piney and herbal aroma; intensely hoppy with floral and weedy overtones. Low malt aroma, low alcoholic vapor.
Light copper with golden highlights. Brilliantly clear with good apparent carbonation. Slight head retention, off-white.
Slightly sweet initial flavor with round malty sense that explodes into hops. Both the floral pine from the nose and side-of-tongue, mouthful of nickels bitterness. Late flavors all hop with a vaguely vaporous finish. Upper limit of alcohol for style. Hint of cherry as it warms. Very late finish has more grapefruit/citrus notes.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 2, 2009 I liked this IPA - but it ain’t no Stone Ruination; my benchmark for the next generation of expertly crafted IPA’s. Still, nice golden color, decent hoppy aroma and flavor - nice finish! Definitely drinkable and re-buyable!
