ksurkin (60), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Feb 28, 2008 bomber. pours a cloudy amber with a 1/2 inch head and great lacing. aroma sweet...think roses, grapefruit, and dried apricot. mouthfeel is very solid, but not too thick and goes down very smooth. this beer wins with flavor. hops are dominant with a roasted malt flavor on the back end. perfectly bitter at 69IBUs and lasts nicely on the toungue. overall, one of the most quality IPA’s around.
amish_caravan (212), Winona, Minnesota, USA Oct 11, 2008 strong scent of floral hops. nice color. translucent amber with little head. taste is of strong hops and some citrus. bitter hops finish with tones of grapefruit as well. excellent beer. I will purchase again. mgermani (621), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Oct 10, 2008 Pours a clear orange with a thin head with great retention and LOTS of lace. Sweet & hoppy, slightly medicinal nose. Taste... oh boy. This one’s a treat. Loads of malt and a recessed bitterness set the stage perfectly for a beautiful fresh and earthy hop finish. Oily mouthfeel, great carbonation, dangerously quaffable. Packs a nearly Imperial punch in terms of taste, and only clocks in at 7% ABV. Very nice! pantanap (784), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 9, 2008 draft at maproom.... semi-transparent orange amber brown pour with a thin but lasting frothy white head.... aroma lended itself to bitter citrus and pine notes ...assertive bitter pine and citris hop flavors with an apparent bitterness in the finish. quite nice and bold flavors to this ipa. beergod!
