Commercial Description:
This is a hoppy IPA. Did I say hops? Your brewer is a hop head! This is a full bodied beer using American grains. The goal was to create a base for showing off the unique floral qualities of two Pacific Northwest hops, Columbus and Cascade. Columbus is a new hybrid High Alpha Acid hop used mostly for bittering, but used heavily as an aromatic in this strong brew. Cascade is the balance that ties the malt and bittering hops together. It is a true specialty ale and is our brewer’s statement on this style. 2004 L.A. Clear, very light, amber, almost yellow color. Prominent head with adequate lacing. Nose is decidedly hoppy, nice balance of citrus and pine. Palate is easy and inocuous, not too heavy, not too light. Lovely, soft texture, Super easy-drinking IPA, none of the bite or tang that define so many. Tidge of sweet, nice!

Pours golden/copper with small white head. Nose is floral, citrus, pine, and grapefruit. Taste is similar with more piney hops than sweet malt. Crisp and refreshing yet somewhat sweet with oily mouthfeel. Great ipa.

Starts with a very enticing floral hop aroma. It’s a full on sticky hop beer. Not much sweetness at all, but abundant in piney hop flavor that finishes long and dry. If you like hoppy bitterness and not much else, this is for you.

Kinda disappointing. Pours a murky yellow orange with a thin white head and lacing. Aroma is lemon, citrus and pine hops. Flavor is bitter and palate is thin, metallic, astringent which makes this beer not so great but alright.

On tap at the Davis Graduate
Appearance: Golden yellow with a nice amount of white head
Aroma: Citrus and grapefruit
Taste: Citrus hops hit you hard
Very good IPA. A crisp and clean beer that is well balanced for the amount of hops.

12 oz bottle served in a clear pint glass. Pour was dull, hazy gold with very little white head. Nose was citrus, hops, caramel, yeast, and light pine. Taste up front is malt, yeast, and caramel. This is followed by an instant rush of citrus, hops and a bitter flowery bouquet of a finish. This is a very good brew that that excels in every area.

I picked up this one in Asheville, NC at Bruisin’ Ales. Pours a hazy/yellow with a good head retention. Smells a little sweet, but like a citrus/hoppy sweetness. The taste of this beer is on spot! This is my kind of IPA, it is full of hop flavors without tons of bitterness. This makes me like this beer. As for Mouthfeel and Drinkability, this is one to drink at a Happy Hour! Great IPA. I am going to be in N.California in about six months, I will visit this brewery. -Bye

Great beer! Wonderful hop finish. It has the whole grapefruit thing going on. If you can find it on tap it is worth the trip to taste it. I was able to find it in Cincinnati at a pub around the university. Living in Southeast Indiana doesn’t give you a whole lot to pick from. You California people have got it made! A brewpub on every corner.

pours a nice golden honey color with a thick and creamy white/lt. tan head...nice retention and lacing. lively looking. pungent sweet citrus aroma...pineapple, grapefruit....light earthiness too. flavor has sweetness with light malt backing initially but resiny grapefruity hops take over quickly...finish lingers with grapefruit...pretty dry. mouthfeel is slightly oily and lively. really good ipa!
