Commercial Description:
The brew of choice for mountain bikers, and adventurous types worldwide. (Are you excited now!) This fiery red ale is not for the weak at heart. It originally started out as a Scottish red ale but has taken on flavors of its own. This is a very complex recipe using five different grains to achieve it's unique flavor. The caramel malt used is a mixture of Belgian Caravienne and Hugh Bairds Crystal malts. Red Rocket is a full bodied, hoppy brew which finishes on the pallet with caramel malts. Centennial and Cascade hops are used for bittering and aroma.2004 L.A. Overall Impression: Nice dark color, relatively dark color for a red ale, very hoppy flavor with a hint caramel, and a smooth taste, excellent beer from what I have found to be a really solid brewery

Deep red pour with light, off white head. Piney, spicey aroma, with nice hops, Flavor is hoppy with a nice, spicey malt background. Some rye, mostly fruity hops. Medium bodied. Pretty awesome session ale.

On tap at the Beechtree. Pours a clear deep crimson with a medium sized tanned beige head. Lacing. Sweet resin filled pine and citrus hops with a note of pineapple. Thin to medium bodied, sweet and malty, with some hops coming through in the body. Long bitter grapefruit finish. Excellent stuff.

Pours a dark brown, almost black color with a two finger off-white, almost tan head. Looks almost like a stout. Strong roasted malt aroma with hints of chocolate coffee and sweet fruit. Flavor has a strongly roasted, malted/hoppy character with a crisp finish. Not what I expected but delicious nonetheless.

Beautiful look. She fills up my pint glass with thick head and dark color. Full of malty hoppiness. Stays with me all the way.

Pours an amber/red dark tea color with a coper hue. The off tan head is minimal with lacing and some carbonation action. Caramel roasted malt smell with some florals. Lots of grapefruit and tea and the sweet roasted malt is well balanced throughout. Medium/moderate bodied smooth palate with lively soft carbonation. Another fantastic offering from Bear Republic.
