Commercial Description:
The brew of choice for mountain bikers, and adventurous types worldwide. (Are you excited now!) This fiery red ale is not for the weak at heart. It originally started out as a Scottish red ale but has taken on flavors of its own. This is a very complex recipe using five different grains to achieve it's unique flavor. The caramel malt used is a mixture of Belgian Caravienne and Hugh Bairds Crystal malts. Red Rocket is a full bodied, hoppy brew which finishes on the pallet with caramel malts. Centennial and Cascade hops are used for bittering and aroma.2004 L.A. I have to remember that if a craft beer says "red" in the label it most likely has nothing in common with an Irish Ale. Red Rocket Ale is based on a Scottish Ale, caramel and smoked malts make room for plenty of C-Hops. High on the bitterness level, with a citrus undertone. Alcohol may be lower than what some people think an American Strong Ale should be, but I think Red Rocket came together rather well.

Hoppy with a cinnamon note. Dark red color with a creamy head. Some nutty malts in the flavor. Some similarities to Arrogant Bastard ale. Good stuff.

Bottle, Thanks to KegBear for another fabulous housewarming beer The aroma is incredibly malty and yet there is some hop that is very evident. That taste is great malt with a lot of hops crashing through later. There is also some fruit coming through but not much. It finishes smooth and leaves the aftertaste of a caramel apple on the back of the throat.Buy again

Aroma is VERY malty, mainly caramel malts. The appearance is a ruby red, persistent white head. It certainly looks like a scotch ale. The flavor is malty sweet, with a reasonable balance of hops. The hops impart a little citrus quality to the taste. The palate is mainly bittering hops, which tend to linger. The mouthfeel is a medium consistency. Decent for an ASA.

Poured medium brown with a touch of red, thick bubbly head that left a lot on the side of the glass. Toasted malt aroma came first, followed by leafy hops. Flavors of caramel and toasted malts work off the hops bitterness to make a very complex and pleasant flavor profile; the sweetness wins out. Medium to full body with a very smooth and creamy mouthfeel, minimal carbonation, and nice malty aftertaste.

Poured a dark red color with an off white head. Aroma was somewhat maltier than most asa’s, but with a hint of hops. Flavor was more floral with a nice bitter finish.

Deep brown with no head. Sweet notes come off as well as subtle hop touches. Interesting spiced quality starts the palate which evolves into a chocolatey malty complexity. Not sure what they were going for, as the beer goes in a number of directions, but it all works well. Quite tasty.

Pours a very dark rich ruby red with a foamy, tan, and very persistent head. Thick lacing on the glass. Malt and berries on the nose. Flavor is strong of hops with coffee and chocolate notes readily apparent. More subtle notes of berries and nuts. A bitter, hoppy finish reminiscent of an IPA, with a little coffee underneath. A tasty wonderfully balanced brew.
