Commercial Description:
The brew of choice for mountain bikers, and adventurous types worldwide. (Are you excited now!) This fiery red ale is not for the weak at heart. It originally started out as a Scottish red ale but has taken on flavors of its own. This is a very complex recipe using five different grains to achieve it's unique flavor. The caramel malt used is a mixture of Belgian Caravienne and Hugh Bairds Crystal malts. Red Rocket is a full bodied, hoppy brew which finishes on the pallet with caramel malts. Centennial and Cascade hops are used for bittering and aroma.2004 L.A. 22 oz bottle. Pours a copper brown with a thin, off-white head which lingered and gave lacing. The smell is grassy hops and some roast malt. Taste is definitely a strong ale with the malt strong but a hoppy kick. Mouthfeel is medium with carbonation and a bitter hop aftertaste.

A dark brown pour with hints of red. Light off white head and lace. Toasted malt with hints of molasses on the nose. Flavor of rich maltiness that rolls into a huge bittering finish. Medium bodied with carbonation that is a bit aggressive for my taste. Solid beer that has a very surprising hop bitter.

22 oz bottle pours a deep brown color with read highlights. Almond color fluffy head covers the beer. A malty, sweet aroma with some smoke in there as well. A grassy hops aroma compliments the malt aroma. Bread like mouthfeel and dry when you swallow. Bitterness does not come in until you swallow. Some fruit flavor like raisin and prune appear too. Another great beer from the Bear Republic. I just wish we could get more in MD.

Pours a nice hazy auburn color with a long lasting beige head. Aroma of citrus and earthy hops accompanied by sweet, fruity darker malts. Awesome balance, as it is pretty hoppy yet sweet and fruity at the same time. Citrus and earth make way for some nice fruity maltiness. Lingering bitterness accompanies and exceptionally smooth drinking body.

Thanks to lb4lb for this one. Bottle, 22 oz bomber. Pours a very dark ruby-brown. Cotton-like beige head. Lacing permeates. Aroma is sweet citrusy malts, chocolate, caramel. Flavor is light chocolate malts, tangy citrus, bitter hops. Well balanced. Sweet, slightly sticky. Enjoyable.

This slightly creamy red ale has a great head that actually has persistent structure, almost like a head on a root beer float. Unfortunately, it blocks a lot of the aroma, at least until you drink it down. The color is a deep brownish red. This beer has an excellent balance of malts and hops, with lots of flavor and a nice smooth finish. This is the first beer I’d tried from Bear Republic but I’ll be keeping my eye out for other offerings.

pours a deep, reddish brown with an offwhite, foamy head. aroma is very pleasing with caramel hoppiness. I took a punch with the flavor. the hops are strong and on the bitter side. other flavors of grapefruit, caramel, and hops. very fresh.
