Commercial Description:
The brew of choice for mountain bikers, and adventurous types worldwide. (Are you excited now!) This fiery red ale is not for the weak at heart. It originally started out as a Scottish red ale but has taken on flavors of its own. This is a very complex recipe using five different grains to achieve it's unique flavor. The caramel malt used is a mixture of Belgian Caravienne and Hugh Bairds Crystal malts. Red Rocket is a full bodied, hoppy brew which finishes on the pallet with caramel malts. Centennial and Cascade hops are used for bittering and aroma.2004 L.A. Bottle. Deep, dark reddish brown, with a fine tall off-white head. Super hop aroma, very fruity, with a slight amber malt background. Citrus and a bit of bubblegum as well. Round malt flavor, very rich and smooth, with dark fruits, caramel, chocolate; slightly chewy and grainy. Amazingly hopped. Rich, deep, complex malts. Very big flavor all around. Long, almost burning hop finish, with fruit and slightly roasted grains. Fantastic. Might even get better with age…

from crackedkettle.com - slighlty hazy reddish-brown colour with a little beige foam; aroma of prune and caramel; fairly malty, medium to full body; the solid initial sweetness is met by a strong bitterness; moderately dry fruity and malty finish - solid and well-made

22oz bottle. pours a deep garnet/purple with a medium sized foamy beige head. aroma of black tea, hops, caramel malt, citrus and floral hops, licorice. flavors are robust with plenty of hops, caramel, licorice and a spicy cinnamon finish. really smooth, creamy, velvety palate. this stuff is really tasty! leaves a great drippy lace in glass. the cinnamon brings this to life.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm) Dark ruby colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of blood orange, red berries and pine needles. Malty, fruity taste with blood orange, caramel, red berries and a generous piney bitterness in the finish. Very nice beer with solid malt and an impressive hop character.

Dark smoky reddish brown with a tan head. Fruity sweet hoppy aromas. The hops and caramel malt notes make this pretty chewy. Biting hop character lingers on through to a long finish. The malts are nice, but clearly play a supporting role for this full bodied ale. There is some light notes of grapefruit, and orange towards the end as well as a sharp, herbal hop astringency.

Great deep red color. I’m getting malt, and maybe a hint of hops but nothing else from the nose. Taste gives a harsh bitter from the hops - and some nice caramel on the finish.

22oz bottle. Color is a deep dark ruby. Carbonation is very good producing a thick tan head that stay on till your done. Aroma is malty sweet with a bright hop scent. Taste smooth and sweet. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a creamy feel. Finish comes in sweet with malt, caramel and a hint of fruit, then floral hops and a mellow bitterness. In the after taste the sweet flavor drop quickly letting the bitterness stand out a bit. This brew rocks, it has bold flavors and yet it drinks with a light feel. Best of all this bottle only cost $4.50 so I can drink it all the time.
