Commercial Description:
The brew of choice for mountain bikers, and adventurous types worldwide. (Are you excited now!) This fiery red ale is not for the weak at heart. It originally started out as a Scottish red ale but has taken on flavors of its own. This is a very complex recipe using five different grains to achieve it's unique flavor. The caramel malt used is a mixture of Belgian Caravienne and Hugh Bairds Crystal malts. Red Rocket is a full bodied, hoppy brew which finishes on the pallet with caramel malts. Centennial and Cascade hops are used for bittering and aroma.2004 L.A. Thanks to lb4lb for this one. Bottle, 22 oz bomber. Pours a very dark ruby-brown. Cotton-like beige head. Lacing permeates. Aroma is sweet citrusy malts, chocolate, caramel. Flavor is light chocolate malts, tangy citrus, bitter hops. Well balanced. Sweet, slightly sticky. Enjoyable.

This slightly creamy red ale has a great head that actually has persistent structure, almost like a head on a root beer float. Unfortunately, it blocks a lot of the aroma, at least until you drink it down. The color is a deep brownish red. This beer has an excellent balance of malts and hops, with lots of flavor and a nice smooth finish. This is the first beer I’d tried from Bear Republic but I’ll be keeping my eye out for other offerings.

pours a deep, reddish brown with an offwhite, foamy head. aroma is very pleasing with caramel hoppiness. I took a punch with the flavor. the hops are strong and on the bitter side. other flavors of grapefruit, caramel, and hops. very fresh.

Bomber bottle....brown with red highlights...light brown sugar head...hops on the nose, mandarin orange and grapefruit...I smell malts too but more underlying...wow!...holy citrus burst...followed by a short sweet malt burst....flavors of grapefruit and im sucking on a lemon seed...grapefruit takes over....nice balance of flavors, but in the malt citrus department citrus is clearly the winner...refreshing yet hearty body...citrusy finish and nice lacing

Reddish brown with thin lacing head. Deep earthy malty scent. Very hoppy taste. Bitter and smooth. Earthy notes. Complex aftertaste. Plays with the tastebuds.

From tap this beer is not really red, more dark brown with tan foam. Smells almost like an IPA. On first taste, comes off as an IPA, but has a smoother hop flavor, more malty caramel carries through. Very nice to drink.

Dark brown body with small tan head. Has light aromas of cascade hop citrus-lemon and like mostly. The flavor is a very nice balance of yeast, malt, and like with a twist of lemon.
