Commercial Description:
The brew of choice for mountain bikers, and adventurous types worldwide. (Are you excited now!) This fiery red ale is not for the weak at heart. It originally started out as a Scottish red ale but has taken on flavors of its own. This is a very complex recipe using five different grains to achieve it's unique flavor. The caramel malt used is a mixture of Belgian Caravienne and Hugh Bairds Crystal malts. Red Rocket is a full bodied, hoppy brew which finishes on the pallet with caramel malts. Centennial and Cascade hops are used for bittering and aroma.2004 L.A. Deep hazy mahogany with a dense rocky almond coloured head displaying excellent retention and generating thick lace. Aromas of green hoppiness and brown sugar.Very malty palate, sweet and cakey with lots of resinous and floral hop character. Very creamy mouthfeel. Delicious!

bomber. pours a deep redish with little head. aromas of malts and some hops. nice and smooth over the palate with some spices on the front while finishing with some strong hops. overall a solid beer but lacks the extraordinary that would make me want to buy it again. I think the 96% rating is a bit high... I would give it a solid B.

22 oz. bottle. Pours murky brown with a frothy light tan head. Aromas of sweet caramel malt and citrus fruits. A little bit of hop bite up front, mellows with some caramel malt and then a little bitterness in the finish. I’m getting some dark fruits as well. Medium bodied. Good brew, nicely balanced and easy to drink.

Draught and bottle at various times. Pours dark brown/red with a moderate off-white head. Aroma is somewhat fruity and caramel malt with quite a few hops, especially dry-hopped citrus and pine. Flavor is bitter and citrus hops on a malt background. Honestly this reminds me more of an IIPA than anything derived from a scottish ale, but it’s pretty good anyway. Better from the bottle than on tap, I think.

Pours a deep red color with a thin off-white head that lingers but does not leave much lace. Smells sweet like fruit and berries, raspberries . Tastes sweet of malt and red fruit, raspberries maybe some cranberries. Not too thick, not too thin. Nice crisp carbonation. This beer is very drinkable, a great red beer to drink if your feeling like a tasty beer with a little punch to it.
