Commercial Description:
The brew of choice for mountain bikers, and adventurous types worldwide. (Are you excited now!) This fiery red ale is not for the weak at heart. It originally started out as a Scottish red ale but has taken on flavors of its own. This is a very complex recipe using five different grains to achieve it's unique flavor. The caramel malt used is a mixture of Belgian Caravienne and Hugh Bairds Crystal malts. Red Rocket is a full bodied, hoppy brew which finishes on the pallet with caramel malts. Centennial and Cascade hops are used for bittering and aroma.2004 L.A. Bottle as shown. Pours a dark brown/ruby color with a very small off white head. The aroma is very hoppy with grapefruit. Decent lacing on this one. The taste is malty with a bitter finish. A very good american strong ale.

Bottle... Poured a murky, ruby color with a frothy off-white head. Some hops on the nose. Flavors of grains and a caramel sweetness. Contained a nice hop bitterness while still being balance by some malt. Finished with a sweet, syrupy aftertaste. This beer was a nice treat, I’m glad I picked it up.

(draft @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Dark ruby color with a creamy tan head. Aroma has a very nice and sweet resin note at the beginning, followed closely by citrus and caramel with a little touch of bitter hops. Flavor is smooth and sweet at the front with a middle of caramel and sweet malts and a light and bitter finish. Lingers for a bit on the tongue.

22 oz bottle pours a clear red mahogany body with a lavish beige head. Complex aroma of pine and grapefruit hops atop a caramel and toffee malt backbone. Taste is dominated by bitter grapefruit and pine hops which slightly overpower the toffee malt sweetness. Just a hint of apple fruitiness adds a nice complexity. Very drinkable.

From a 22-oz bomber, shared by joebrew pours a clear caramel amber brew with a thick creamy head with food retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, citrusy and grassy hops with some light chocolate. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with a slight metalic character. Flavors has a rich caramel malt and some mild bitterness. Finish is semi-sweet and then a flat caramel flavor in the after taste. A little light on the alcohol for a strong ale but still tasty.
