Commercial Description:
The brew of choice for mountain bikers, and adventurous types worldwide. (Are you excited now!) This fiery red ale is not for the weak at heart. It originally started out as a Scottish red ale but has taken on flavors of its own. This is a very complex recipe using five different grains to achieve it's unique flavor. The caramel malt used is a mixture of Belgian Caravienne and Hugh Bairds Crystal malts. Red Rocket is a full bodied, hoppy brew which finishes on the pallet with caramel malts. Centennial and Cascade hops are used for bittering and aroma.2004 L.A. Pours dark brown-amber with moderate fluffy tan head. Strong citrus hop presence in the nose balanced with caramel and toffee malts and a hint of alcohol. Flavor is smokey with nice bitter hops and a smooth malt backbone. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Not overly complex, but delicious nonetheless.

fine clear reddish brown with a thin tan head, balanced malt/hop aroma with. flavor is thin in the middle, with various odd ntoes off to the side—smoke, brown sugar, vinegar. very dry on the tongue but the lips are tingly.

Damn, this is good. Great balance with an edge towards hoppy. Fnishes pretty flowery and hoppy too but as it warms up the hoppiness diminshes.. Seems like it should be classified as an amber if it were my decision. Glad I got a good balanced brew to mix into my regular rotation.

draft- sticky, red, malty brew (don’t really get the carmel malt decribed in some of the ratings), with some big time piney bitterness. Yum.

A really good copper ale, very similar to Lagunitas Lucky 13. Picked it up in SF on a road trip. Caramel malt with semi-aggressive hops. Solid brew.

22 oz. bottle from Bottleworks in Seattle. Pour is reddish brown with a normal off white head. Aroma is resinous grassy hops and earthy malts. Taste is initially resinous hops but move to malt in the middle and finish with pine hoppiness. There is some dry / sweet fruitiness (dates, sweet raisins) in their as well. Nice brew.
