Commercial Description:
The brew of choice for mountain bikers, and adventurous types worldwide. (Are you excited now!) This fiery red ale is not for the weak at heart. It originally started out as a Scottish red ale but has taken on flavors of its own. This is a very complex recipe using five different grains to achieve it's unique flavor. The caramel malt used is a mixture of Belgian Caravienne and Hugh Bairds Crystal malts. Red Rocket is a full bodied, hoppy brew which finishes on the pallet with caramel malts. Centennial and Cascade hops are used for bittering and aroma.2004 L.A. Magma hued pour with a perfect, incredible thundercloud head. Candied plum and caramel apple aroma. Hidden foresty hops. Rather monstrous flavors. Burnt toffee and charred dark fruits chased in the finish by barren woody hops. Brown sugar glazed orange, semi-sweet chocolate. Palate is full, rich and forward. Somewhat noisy and brash, but still strangely pleasant.

Nice aroma, malty, with hints of roasted barley, some brown sugar. pours dark red with a huge white head that lasts! Malty, roasted notes, sweet yet hoppy. Some brown sugar, with some roasted notes, with a heavy dose of hops. Citrus hop flavors, definitely northwestern flavor.

Many red ales taste flat or watery, or extremely bitter and one-dimensional. Not this one. It’s moderately bitter with a smooth caramel hopiness. Soft carbonation. Like a toned down IPA. Quite refreshing.

One of my fav bear republic ales that I have tasted... I am a fan for sure, a pretty hoppy red ale - hoppy finish is the highlight - quite enjoyable. Not too much or too little of any certain quality. Nice session beer

Ah good red ale... had this one a while back. good hoppy aroma with a great color to it. sweet at first with a good malty and hoppy finish that totally lingers on the palate. Up there with the hop rod rye.

Reddish brown body with a average head with good lacing. Floral hoppy aroma and taste with long lasting bitterness.

Big, thick, chewy head. Nice clear dark amber color. Not much aroma there, but maybe because it is still a little cold, just out of the fridge. Interesting, complex malty flavors up front and in the middle. very unusual, a little spicy, earthy hops in there. Overall ballance and interesting malt profile make this a decent beer, but not one of my favorites.
