Commercial Description:
The brew of choice for mountain bikers, and adventurous types worldwide. (Are you excited now!) This fiery red ale is not for the weak at heart. It originally started out as a Scottish red ale but has taken on flavors of its own. This is a very complex recipe using five different grains to achieve it's unique flavor. The caramel malt used is a mixture of Belgian Caravienne and Hugh Bairds Crystal malts. Red Rocket is a full bodied, hoppy brew which finishes on the pallet with caramel malts. Centennial and Cascade hops are used for bittering and aroma.2004 L.A. Pours reddish brown into the glass with a slightly off white head. Aroma is nice hops with some caramel malt. Really love the flavor and balance of this beer. Lots of bitterness yet very soft on the palate with plenty of sweet caramel malt. Really great brew from these guys.

This beer pours a deep mahogany almost black with a thin tan head leaving some decent lacing down the sides. The smell is of nice beet sugars and hops and the flavor totally emulates this. I am not a huge hops guy, but this really is not that bad of a beer! It’s got a strong hops flavor but is equally balanced by the malts. I thought by the smell this would be more malty and less hoppy, which was a bit of a letdown for mw, but still a great brew.

bottle. Average light creamy beige head that mostly diminished. Spare lacework. Nutty amber color. Aroma of caramel, toasted malt, floral, grape. Medium to almost full bodied, average carbonation. Moderated sweet and bitter flavor. Toasted malty and light bitter finish.

Unusual meaty aroma, somewhat like fish on the initial burst. Malty, with some tobacco like notes. Dark reddish brown body with a tan rich head. Flavor is hopped up roasted red malt. Dryish at the end and lightly bitter. Some mild dried figs, caramel. Palate is lightly creamy with a bitter sweet duration. Pretty good.

Pours a very cloudy dark reddish brown, thin bit of dark tan foam. Aroma has a little bit of everything in it -- malty/bready, hoppy/spicy, and fruity/citrusy. Taste is the same - a pretty complex beer. I think the one I tried was a little bit old perhaps -- a bit flat and a hint of a sour note to it, but still very good.

Bomber, poured into tulip glasses and split four ways. Color is soft amber, with a nice fluffy head (it doesn’t last all that long!). Aroma has red cherries, milk chocolate, hops and parsley. Flavor starts with some interesting chocolate, cherry, and toffee, then moves swiftly – a touch heavy-handedly – towards strawberry and bitter hops. By the finishing essence, this emerges quite bitter and lasting. Very tasty, but drank with the wrong crowd (i.e. non-hopheads), this one won’t sit well.

Poured from Bottle into Pint glass. Pours a brilliant deep ruby color that is crystal clear with a thin tan head that remains atop the glass and leaves nice lacing as you sip. The Aroma has a resinous piney hop aroma with some bready, toasted malts to follow it up. The flavor has more hop flavor upfront with some dried fruits and ends up sweet and with a lingering citrus bitterness. Its a medium bodied beer that is slightly sticky. I’m really glad the flavor came through for this one because the aroma was just a little boring. Tasty Malt Beverage.
