6/04/2008: I’m not quite sure whether Bear Republic Spring Fever should be classified as an Amber Ale or English Bitter since its characteristics could really fit either bill... This beer has a clean amber color and has an ample citrus, resign, and slightly "leafy" hop flavor, a moderate level of bitterness, and a good toasted malty base. It is well-balanced and smooth on the palate. While it is nothing remarkable, it is a really drinkable and flavorful beer that is quite sessionable. I would have had another pint or two of this brew had I had the time...
Draught (pint) at Buckeye Beer Engine in Lakewood, Ohio. Rating #1 for this beer...
sliffy (1951), Columbus, Ohio, USA Aug 4, 2008 On tap @ Buckeye: Pours a hazy copper with an off white head. Aroma, grassy hops, caramel. Flavor, grassy notes, caramel, toffee, yeasty, some bready notes, earthy hops on the finish. Solid.
