Commercial Description:
"XP" is the abbreviation for Exceptional Pale Ale. This is our interpretation of a classic pale ale. Our "XP" (exceptional pale) has a golden color, and is very light bodied with a noticeable hop aroma and bittering element that just teases the hopheads but satisfies the newest of microbrewed ale drinkers. This beer is brewed with American Two Row, English wheat, Belgian, and Dextrin malts. Mix this with just the right amounts of Cascade and Centennial hops and you've got a winner!!

Foamy C-hopped medium bodied APA. Bear Republic keeps its APA balanced and not overloaded with hops.

Citrus hop aroma. Pours amber brown, nice head. Goes down easy, you could drink alot of these in one sit down. Quite malty but still has a nice bitter finish. mmm good

Bomber, courtesy GodOfThunder. Pours a medium, brassy amber color with a dense head of whipped egg whites. Nice, sticky bands of lacing circle the glass. The aroma shows like a borderline IPA, bright citrus hops leading the bitter charge atop a nicely toasty, toffee malt base. Hints of caramel and vanilla come through on the nose as well. Extremely well balanced, the flavor walks the line between toasty malts and sharp citrus and floral hops. Orange shows strong, its bitterness finishing peppery. Substantial in body and well balanced, the palate transitions from sweet and malty to bitter, never venturing into astringency. This is a solid, hoppy, sessionable pale ale.

Pours a translucent copper amber with a thick creamy offwhite head. The nose is citrusy, some pine, earthy malt feel, not sure if the malt profile is so prominent bc of the beer or because of the fact that i didn’t drink it fresh. Nice bitterness to the flavor, earthy malt feel, not enough flavor from the hops.

far more malty then i hoped. much more of an amber then a pale, none of the hops id expected and hoped for from bear republic. still, this is quite balanced.

Pours with small white head. Drank at 50. It has a decent hop character and is fairly enjoyable, but has a malty/tannin-like bitterness. Definitely worth drinking and better than the average bear.

Three beers in. This beer’s aroma is a sweet, spicy and slightly earthy smell. A little over the top - overwhelms the nose. The beer enters the mouth clean and leaves a slight bitter taste in the mouth. Not very bitter. Expect a bit more for the aroma the beer was giving off.
