| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 3, 2009 Three beers in. This beer’s aroma is a sweet, spicy and slightly earthy smell. A little over the top - overwhelms the nose. The beer enters the mouth clean and leaves a slight bitter taste in the mouth. Not very bitter. Expect a bit more for the aroma the beer was giving off. sneagrams3 (1762), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 3, 2009 Tasted 12/11/08. 22oz bomber. Filtered with a golden amber hue. Thick ring and moldy layer of bone white head. Crisp grassy, citrus aromas. Medium bodied with a good balance between the malts and hops. Maybe the scales swing a little toward the hops. Mild tartness and a touch dry in the finish. Well done. robforbes (1108), Bremerton, Washington, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 13, 2008 This was not a fresh bottle as it has been in my cellar for over two years and I keep overlooking it. Poured a rich orange color with a nice foamy white head and good lacing rings. Nose still smells fresh, however, and is of citrus hops and caramel malts in good balance. Smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is nicely bitter with some pine as well. Long bitter finish. This may not have been fresh but it held up well. I will have to get a new bottle and try it again though I felt this was excellent. marcus (1902), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 12, 2008 This golden orange ale poured with a large fluffy off-white head and a floral aroma. Hop bitterness dominates the flavor and palate, although there is a decent soft malt base. This is not an exceptional beer, but it is just fine if you’re in a hophead mood and don’t want to get too wasted. Indulgence (141), Ajo, Arizona, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Oct 10, 2008 One of the more perfect Pale Ales around, bar none... IMHO... strong aromas of sweet citrus from the hops, almost like opening a box of Fruit Loops... the look is awesome for the style, huge bulging head, lacing is very sticky, the head remains throughout the length of the beer... flavors are sweetened hops, very balanced... palate is light, but far from watery, it is just right considering the alcohol level and gravity... overall, this is a brilliant session beer, enjoy a 22oz’er and not get schnockered... Bear Republic has to be one of my most favorite breweries... keep it up!
