Commercial Description:
"XP" is the abbreviation for Exceptional Pale Ale. This is our interpretation of a classic pale ale. Our "XP" (exceptional pale) has a golden color, and is very light bodied with a noticeable hop aroma and bittering element that just teases the hopheads but satisfies the newest of microbrewed ale drinkers. This beer is brewed with American Two Row, English wheat, Belgian, and Dextrin malts. Mix this with just the right amounts of Cascade and Centennial hops and you've got a winner!!

A great big ol’ rocky head sits atop a clear bronze body. Thick lacing. The aroma has the scents of fresh tart oranges and pink grapefruit over sweet caramel. It’s a well balanced drink although slightly light on the flavor. Fresh bread and caramel are evenly matched by the light citric bitterness. This is decent, sessionable stuff.

Pours a nice orange with a large, off-white, puffy head. Citrus hops, caramel, pine, floral notes, and biscuit malts. I swish the aroma was a bit stronger. Watery body. Flavor is much like the aroma with less of the caramel and more noticeable biscuit malt. Finishes with some hops on the back of your tongue Crisp and refreshing, but lacking a bit of aroma and flavor strength.

Very crisp and refreshing APA. Popped this open after a nice long workout and it hit the spot. Not quite as citrusy as I might like - a bit of breadiness in the middle detracts a tad - but rock solid brew.

Golden-amber color with a nice-size soapy head. Citrus hop aroma with hints of bready malts. Taste has a nice little hop bite with just enough citrus and floral hop, plus a nice malt backing. Solid APA.

Bottle: Pours a clear copper color with a white head, some floaties. Aroma, citrus, caramel, and some bready pale malts. Flavor, light pale malts up front, some bready notes, citrus, and herbal hops on the finish. Pretty solid.

Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is huge of citrus and pine hops up front with hints of caramel and sweet malts behind it. Pretty hoppy for an APA but no complaints on that one. Citrus and pine up front that gives way to the sweeter tones. Finishes slightly bitter with a lingering flavor. Not as thick on the palate as I was thinking but still a good pale ale.

Chicago trip. Monday. Big bottle. Very bubbly orange amber. Crisp with a big head sinks quickly down. Solid hop aroma. Slightly rough flavour. Delicate golden taste with nice hops. Could drink this all night.
