Aroma is subtle west-coast hops, some malt. Flavour is hoppy with a nice amount of malt to keep everything balanced. Light body with a mild bitter finish. This is a mild, sessionable APA - a great example of the style. Reid (1090), Salem, Oregon, USA

Large frothy and thick creme coloured head atop a slightly hazed amber ale.
Ok aroma of hops and acceptable maltiness, slightly toasty.
Very malty/bitter/fruity to begin with ,then a nice piney hoppiness cleanses the palate of it all and finishes moderatlly bitter.
Quite nice on the palate, I liked the way the hop flushed away the fruitiness just at the end.
Over all a good example of a PNW/Cali Pale Ale. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA

Bear Republic XP Pale Ale has a sticky grapefruit aroma. It is golden orange in color and has a large, puffy, pale yellow head. The carbonation is lively and the head has excellent retention. There is also a substaintial amount of thick lacing. XP is packed full of grapefruit/pine hop flavor and has a mild to moderate level of bitterness. There is a modest level of maltiness beneath the hoppy layer. This beer is crisp, clean, and smooth on palate with just the right amount of carbonation. XP is eXcePtionally easy to drink and a very well done pale ale that doesn’t infringe upon the IPA territory. Altogether XP provides a wonderful drink eXPerience!
