Commercial Description:
"XP" is the abbreviation for Exceptional Pale Ale. This is our interpretation of a classic pale ale. Our "XP" (exceptional pale) has a golden color, and is very light bodied with a noticeable hop aroma and bittering element that just teases the hopheads but satisfies the newest of microbrewed ale drinkers. This beer is brewed with American Two Row, English wheat, Belgian, and Dextrin malts. Mix this with just the right amounts of Cascade and Centennial hops and you've got a winner!!

Draught at the brewpub during RBSG09. Deep gold color with a lasting white head. Honeyish and bready malt and citric hop aromas. Pretty evenly balanced bready malt and citric and lightly piney hops with a bitter finish. Medium-light bodied with medium carbonation. Not too hoppy, but a good easy-drinking pale.

RBSG09 on tap at the brewpub. Pours clear gold with a creamy white head. Aromas of pale malt, light C-hops. Pretty floral and somewhat juicy. Flavor is weakly hoppy with a dough pale malt finish that isn’t very refreshing. Semidry finish, decent drinkability.

On cask at Local 44. Clear brown with a putty head. Nose is strawberry jam, dough and mild grass. Medium light with soft tingly carb. Taste is lemon-lime, apple and toffee with a mild bitter finish; dry and woody.

Bottle, pours a nice light copper color, with a long lasting frothy white head. Solid, solid flavor, great hops, slightly sweet malts. Haven’t had a bad Bear Republic brew yet, in fact everyone I have tried has been great.

From the bottle, initially poured a clear brassy amber jewel, with sustained light tan effervescence. Smells of alcohol, near ammonia and citrus rind with damp grains. A bit of aspirin bitterness and metallic twang floats atop medium-full bodied toastiness. The finish lingers a little, and a touch of sweetness comes out with warming. Delicious and balanced. I’m so happy Bear Republic is now available in my neck of the woods!
