Commercial Description:
"XP" is the abbreviation for Exceptional Pale Ale. This is our interpretation of a classic pale ale. Our "XP" (exceptional pale) has a golden color, and is very light bodied with a noticeable hop aroma and bittering element that just teases the hopheads but satisfies the newest of microbrewed ale drinkers. This beer is brewed with American Two Row, English wheat, Belgian, and Dextrin malts. Mix this with just the right amounts of Cascade and Centennial hops and you've got a winner!!

bottle. copper-orange colour with a gigantic frothy white head. creamy hop aroma, sharp pine, and bread malts. Creamy body. Hop flavour is definitely there but not as assertive as the nose suggests. It’s pretty tasty but I don’t think it holds up against the other Bear Republic’s that I’ve had.

Discount Liquors, Milwaukee, WI - 22 oz bottle. Pours a medium copper color with a too-frothy (came belching out of the bottle actually - distracting and points off on the appearance for that) off-white head and sticky lacing. Slight, floral and citrus aroma, fresh. Flavor is somewhat muted and bland. Brief citrus hoppiness in there but one dimensional - not a whole lot of maltiness to counteract. Turns a bit metallic near the finish. Had better from Bear Republic.

Cloudy golden with a creamy white head. Pretty short retention. Hoppy aroma with rye, citrus, cokie and graitfruit. Very malty taste with the hops not overdone. There is a great deal of similarity to the Racer 5 but this has more citrus than graitfruit. Overall I was very pleased with this beer.

I thought my taste buds were slipping as of late, but this beer proves they aren’t. An exceptional pale ale with a nice mixture of hops.

A nice session beer, poured a light orange in color. Aroma of moderate hops. Well balanced, light overall in body. Hops come through midway through with a bitter dry finish.

Bright orange white head and heavy carbonation. Aroma sweet citrus....orange, lemon, grapefruit. Flavor is slightly hoppy at first then moves to a sweeter citrus taste where the fruit flavors in the aroma make themselves present. Very smooth body with a slightly dry finish.

Large off-white head of fine bubbles. Lasts for the distance. Very good carbonation eminating from multiple hot spots in the glass. Dry, dusty aroma with a nice bit of bitterness underlying a roasty nutty aroma. Color is a nice clear dark orange. Dry, bitter orange peel, rye and some hops. Did I mention dry. Finish is DRY and bitter with a linger dryness. A dry, bitter and puckering brew. I like it!
