Commercial Description:
"XP" is the abbreviation for Exceptional Pale Ale. This is our interpretation of a classic pale ale. Our "XP" (exceptional pale) has a golden color, and is very light bodied with a noticeable hop aroma and bittering element that just teases the hopheads but satisfies the newest of microbrewed ale drinkers. This beer is brewed with American Two Row, English wheat, Belgian, and Dextrin malts. Mix this with just the right amounts of Cascade and Centennial hops and you've got a winner!!

Little head. Mild hop aroma. Flavor is slightly bitter, a bit thin. Finishes watery. Decent, but uninspired.

Pours deep gold/orange with lots of suspended sediment. B.R.’s trademark gigantic off white head with a down-right-silly amount of lacing. Nose of very clean grapefruit, caramel and some spice. Not nearly as bitter as you would expect from B.R.. Very balanced, but not enough hops to be an A.I.P.A.. Minerals, citrus, toast, caramel, pine needles. Palate is there, it just isn’t bold enough. Finish is a little sweet.

Didn’t get moch out of this one: Grassy nose, hazy green golden colour, mild slightly watery flavors.

This brew pours like a beast, big rocky white head over a deep amber body. Lots of good malts mix well with a big blend of citrus floral hops. Very well balanced and refreshingly crisp brew.

Pours a cloudy amber with almost no head. Aroma is very piney, nice hoppiness. Flavor is superb, not overly assertive but finely balanced between an herbal hoppiness and smooth, creamy malts. An absolute pleasure to drink.

Pretty good, although a bit less ballsy in taste than I like my pale ales, certainly less so than the other two Bear Republics (Hop Rod and Racer 5). It is pale amber, with the nose and taste of dried apricots predominating. Initially the bitterness is not really present, but reveals itself in the finish and aftertaste. Not bad, but I won’t really be running back to it.
